Watching the team walking down the red and white "The Road To Istanbul" carpet onto the pitch, the reds began their journey against AK Graz at the start of the season. Little did anyone know or believe back then they would make it all the way to the final defeating Europe's finest on their way. A dramatic last-gasp thunderbolt from Gerrard against Greek side Olympiakos back in December took us past the groups, into the final stages of the competition. Juventus, as Italian champions conceded 2-1 at Anfield and Chelsea, as English champions fell 1-0 at Anfield a month later in front of an awesome red wave of ecstatic Kopites.
For the final, over 20,000 Liverpool fans made their way to the Ataturk stadium in Turkey and tickets were grasped immediately like gold dust for any true Liverpudlian. I watched the game in the humble, small Swan pub in the centre of Liverpool's bustling city after resigning to the fact that I had little to no chance of getting over to Turkey without an official ticket. The atmosphere was electric and the beers flowed throughout. Although non of us in the Swan made it to the actual stadium, the magic was felt everywhere nonetheless.
The most remarkable cup final come back ever saw the reds triumph over arguably one of the world's greatest teams. From three nil down at half time to come back to three three after a stellar second half performance then to go on and win 3-2 on penalties.
Liverpool claimed their fifth European Cup - a British record and takes English teams total back to joint top with 10. Due to Liverpool achieving a fifth success, the trophy will remain at Anfield forever and the club's name to be engraved on the new one. Over one million people turned out on the streets of Liverpool last night to welcome back their heroes, not to mention dozens of other English towns and cities in England.
The Road To Istanbul was always going to be red and white.

Now let's throw Everton out of the Champs League. They'll only waste the space by getting knocked out by some Latvian part-timers anyway.

Yeah, last time I seem to remember us coming back from 3-0 down was against Man United in 1994 or something. Was fucking ages ago anyway.

I have yet to scrape my boyfriend off the ceiling.
Apparently I am lucky, and am hereby required to walk into the room on a specific pair of PJs just as Liverpool are about to take their 3rd penalty, to submit to being blamed for 3 minutes until they score the next.
Apparently I have done this several times now, and thus it should continue.

At first we were on the flyover behind St. G's hall and thought "Shit view this. Damn, there it goes, in the distance!" and then walked down to the Empire theatre. Just stood there for bit thinking nothing of it and then the buss came right past us! Fucking brilliant. I've used over half a gig in pics and videos in the last two days. I'm completely partied out.
