what? everyone gets married before they're 30?? in the sticks maybe. I've been to a few weddings of people my age (24) and I know that a lot get married when they're nearing 30, but that still doesn't make an unwed 32 year old an old hag. It's not 1870 anymore, geez.
I hope to get married, but damn I will NOT get married before I have my career/professional school in order, and that's at least 4-5 years away when i'll be uh oh, nearing 30, the old hag stage.

The dating pool dwindles down the older you get, and one morning you wake up and realize the only two guys that are leaving messages on your voice mail are the custodian down at the elementary school and your father. There is no "enjoyment" in growing old alone, and the dating scene is so mercurial that there really isn't much long term stability, or safety in it. In life, you're so lucky if you can find just one or two people of either sex that really understand, and tolerate you. I wonder how many people settle for something that isn't true love really, just acceptable companionship ... a desire not to have missed out. I've met so many attractive girls, but felt nothing because there was no spark. Meeting people in bars and hoping to make a connection based on attraction is like hoping to find a winning lottery ticket just laying on the ground. Sure, it happens, sometimes, but how often? For how many people?
I believe in chemistry, in soul mates. Not necessarily that you have just one, but that you have people that share a special spark with you, and if it's there, there's the possibility for true love, and happiness. And if it's not, you're just wasting your time being alone in the same bed with someone else.
I just hope I can find my winning lottery ticket.
