I know it's difficult to understand when you don't see it for yourself. I know a thousand descriptive words will always collapse under the power of one, forceful slap across the pacific, sleeping face. Maybe that's why noone else sees...maybe that's why they just stare at me with vacant eyes when I tell them. Maybe that's why their eyes were empty to begin with.
Sometimes when you look so hard at something, you forget what you're looking at. If you position yourself too close to a master work of art it just looks like nonsense...a topography of garbled brushstrokes. It's only when you back away, when you raise your eyes from the details and see the sweeping picture, do you find that what you once thought were mistakes or imperfections are but a necessary aspect of something greater than canvas, deeper than paint, and more resolute than time.
Sometimes when you awake in the morning - soaking in the vestiges of dreams - you want so badly to cool them down, to keep them here, to bathe in them just a little while longer before they evaporate like moonshine through a still, but like blackbirds in winter you end up just chasing them away into the oblivious sky. That's what it's like for most people.
That's not what it's like for me...
I am a prototype for the new humanity - a visionary on the brink - pushing back the dark, liquidy unknown like waves of a polluted Red Sea...only I am no Moses, and when I look behind me, there is noone following - no ragged Jews on tattered feet...no opulent Pharoahs in golden chariots.
It's all just as well. It's not like I know where it is I'm going anyway. All I know is I'm not sad that I'm leaving.
Peering through the peep-holes of invisible doors there is no truth here to be seen...just an elaborate play in the forests of sleep, where mice and men laugh and weep, who do not know the hour of their death - who do not see their inevitable fate - because their bodies are made of canvas and clay, and their eyes are sealed with lacquer and paint.

"I am a prototype for the new humanity - a visionary on the brink - pushing back the dark, liquidy unknown like waves of a polluted Red Sea."
you think too highly of yourself. you are nothing like that sentence. you are another soul going to work everyday to make money to eat, and nothing besides :)

Wow, this was pretty good. But "prototype for the new humanity?" That might be pushing it a little. If anything, the new humanity is a teenager with a large calibre pistol, no respect for human life and a speech impediment.
Word.
