_____________________________________________________________________
Today is the evening of our 13th day on the trail, so far there have been no more unfortunate incidents, but I still have a feeling that there is something strange going on. I can't exactly explain it, but the death of Mr. Richardson, and the disappearance of Mr. Winthorpe, seems more than coincidental. A couple days ago, I sat down the remainder of our party; I explained to them the severity of our situation and especially the fact that getting to civilization in good time could very well mean the difference between finding Mr. Winthorpe either alive or dead. Sadly, these men seem to have little care for anyone other than themselves. It sickens me. I've threatened to leave them here and go to get help, but I know I could never do it. As despicable as I think that these people are, they would most likely meet the same fate as Mr. Richardson.
We are making decent time, however it could be better. The others are starting to get fatigued and I think we might have to make camp for a day to let them save up some energy. I can't say that I'm surprised, we've been going at a near grueling pace for the last four days or so, and I think that we could all use the rest.
Day 14
Tragedy has struck yet again, this time there is no doubt what is going on. Sometime in the middle of the night, I was awoken by some rustling, and a muffled cry for help, only to see someone running from camp, I gave chase, but was knocked unconscious by a well placed branch. After coming to a few minutes later, I decided it best to get to camp to survey stolen gear. What I found I was completely unprepared for.
Mr., Collins, another member of our party lay in his bag, the look of slumber on his face, distinctly contrasted by the congealing pool of blood surrounding him. His throat was cut from ear to ear, his esophagus hanging from the open hole in his neck. I've never witnessed anything like that in my life. The shock of the whole situation sent chills through my body, and opened my eyes to the very real possibility that there is someone on this mountain, that doesn't want us to make it off.
I think the men are also starting to realize that this is no longer some kind of nature hike, but a test of survival. I've been trying to get as much information on all of them as possible, trying to figure out exactly why someone would want us all dead. Unfortunately, the men seem to be very stubborn about sharing any information about each other. This is not going to work, if nobody will be honest with me, I'm the only one that knows the way off of this mountain, and I'll be damned if I'm going to die here killed by some maniac with no reason to kill me.
It seems to me that the nature of these men's businesses has something to do with why someone is after them. Unless they come clean, I think I may have to leave them behind. I doubt they'll like that very much, but I don't see as how I have a choice in the matter, I'm not going to die for these assholes. It's obvious they don't care about me; they're going to have to offer me something to stick with them and hope that they get out of this alive. Hopefully I'll be able to write in this journal tomorrow, it's not much, but it's something to keep me going, something to help me sort out this mess of facts and otherwise wild assumptions. Until tomorrow, for now the four of us will have to take turns standing watch.

What the deuce? Two ratings? This is a good story, as was the first.
I felt so hassled when I had to click the link to read the first part of the story...I'm so lazy.
