I don't know if anyone remembers me, but I was bored at work today and decided to visit ubersite again (and expect the normal boo hiss of fourteen-year-old trolls).
HOWEVER, the following picture I had to share with someone somewhere and figured ubersite was the perfect place to start :)
Please note the location of Iraq in this map. I live in Germany, which apparently, according to this fabulous map from CNN, is now, um Iraq. Unfortunately for us Americans, this reinforces the European belief that we weren't properly taught any geography outside of the 50 U.S. states and capitals.

this may or may not be true from snopes.com...But it seems that CNN is pretty good at the whoopsie fuckups.. I wanted to see if the map I found was for real and checked snopes and found the following really fabulous things..

They weren't really sure where switzerland was here, however it's not quite as bad as putting a middle-eastern country in the center of mainland Europe...
This one is FABULOUS too, apparently CNN had prepared websites for when notables died (in preparation for Dick Cheney's death for example), and then accidently oops, didn't notice the glitch and that the sites were live.

Once I was in Canada, and every one hated George Bush, but couldn't tell me why or what political party he was in. They knew it had some thing to do with a country called Iraq though.

I once went to the US from the UK. The schoolkids there asked me whether I flew or drove from England, and if there was a bridge.

same thing happened to my parents quite a few years ago, but in Canada. the local kids asked if we drove from the UK.
