The other day I was in the living room when I heard my dog barking incessantly. I ignored him at first, but he kept it up for about 10 minutes. Since he rarely, if ever, carries on like this, I got up to go see what the problem was.
I found him in the back porch. He was up on the lounge chair looking at a rocking chair about three feet away from him... just barking, as if something was there. Not thinking much of it, I told him to stop. He shut up and sat down.
I stayed out there to have a cigarette.
A couple minutes later he got back up, looked directly at the rocking chair, and started barking again. Trying to figure out what was going on, I searched around the chair. Maybe there was a bug or a mouse or something... but nothing was there.
About a week prior to this incident, a close family member passed away.
The very last time this family member was at the house, we spent most of the day on the back porch. She sat in that rocking chair the whole time.
I think my dog can see dead people.

Sounds sinister. Get rid of the dog and get a cute kitten instead.
