Just a few minutes ago I saw an episode of Nova on China. Within was divulged the fact that a communist country was growing faster economically than any other country in history, and would soon eclipse us with an increase of 8% a year average. Those communists are gonna beat America at our own damn game.
And I know the reason why. It is because we elect incompetents like Bush to office, where as in China, the strongest party members quickly rise to leadership positions. I am not saying, by any means that democracy is a failed or inherently flawed system, just that right now it isn't doing too good.
So I propose we fix this. We need a leader whom can function in our increasingly global economy, someone who doesn't try and fix economic problems by starting unprovoked wars with middle-eastern countries.
Heres my Idea. we first remove the term limit on the office of president. Then when someone is elected, if they have not at least broken even economically every two years, they are removed from office. That way we will grow in the areas that it really matters instead of letting those slant eyed bastards beat us when we have had every possible advantage.

You watch an episode of Nova and you're an expert? Fuck you!
The USA, with all its faults, is still the place where everyone wants to live.
Do you want to know why China is efficient? Because if a citizen isn't, he's SHOT IN THE FACE!
Die.

.. First off Iraq has the highest economic growth rate (real GDP growth) of about 50%. Chinas real GDP growth is about 9% and is steady unlike most of the 16 countries that surpase its growth rate.
.. China's GDP is half that of the US while it has more than four (4) times our population (. China's potential for economic growth was choked by their communist ideals and is now being released. We do not have every possible advantage especially when it comes to population (US pop: 400 mil, China pop: 1.3 bil, India pop: 1 bil; they have a lot of people who are willing to work).
.. I'm not even going to debate the term limit argument of the president. On that I'll have to step down a level and simply call you a dumbass. The strongest party leaders are the best presidents? seriously?

Sometimes writing post only exposes your flaws. In this case, you were sleeping when your economics professors was teaching....economics.
It's not the current regime who has control over past economic decisions. I am not a Bush supporter, but to say that each President is responsible for "breaking even" is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. I suggest you spend less time watching these shows and pick yourself up a book.

First, China doesn't have a communist economy.
Second, even some african countries have a faster growing economy than the US. Percentage is always a little higher when you start from almost nothing. They will peak too.
Thrid, I bet every argument has been adressed already so go fuck yourself retardo.

you know what, I surrender. I could spend all fucking night and explain what was wrong with the replies, and I still would be givan naught but a volley of blank stares
one last thing, people making decisions on what to buy/produce os a free-mmarket economy(circa 1776), and that communism doesn't work is innacurate, as china's communism is simple annihilating our capitalism.
There I'm done, ya'll can go fuck yourselves, this just ain't worth explaining
===================
If you would like, I could explain to you precisely why communism looks great on paper, but not in practice.
Like I said before, you describe "China's communism" as a communist system, which is just insanely false. The system of production is privatized. It is simply another kind of capitalism, albeit a very socialist form of capitalism. I repeat: Karl Marx is spinning in his grave.
And the day you stop assuming you know more than anyone just because your brain is owned and operated by the one person in the world who is absolutely right about everything, then perhaps you'll learn something new and hold opinions that are based completely off of myth and fiction.
p.s. Free-market economies were not invented by the U.S.A. in 1776. That suggestion alone earns you some time in the corner with a dunce-cap on.
p.p.s. George Bush, John Kerry, Al Sharpton, Ralph Nader, Mao, Hitler, or any Libertarian can do anything about the production capacities of China, regardless of how much power they have. Things like this are not caused or propagated by presidents, but they are changed by either revolutions or lots and lots of time.

It's just astounding how you all keyed in on the least important aspects of the rant.
First of all, it is not meant to be anti-bush
****
=======================
But it is, so what's your point?
=======================
****
Second, it is not the fact that they are communist, rather that they are surpasing us despite our advantage. It doesn't fucking matter that they are communist,China could be facist, autocratic, theocratic, republican, or any fucking form of governemtn, and with the diference in economic levels present little over a decade ago, it would still be fucking sad when they got this close.
****
=======================
Look, I think it's blatantly clear that you have absolutely no idea about which you speak. How do we have an advantage? They have hundreds of millions of able workers willing to make things and do stuff for a lot less than we are willing to make things and do stuff. It is absolutely not a matter of communism vs. capitalism because in case you missed the last twenty years of history, or if you're twelve years old (in which case you should shut up and get back to the textbooks), then you would know about "Socialism with Chinese characteristics."
This system was implemented mainly in 1978 by Deng Xiaoping's "Four Modernizations" which called for the modernization of agriculture, industry, science and technology, and the military. All of these aims were designed to help China become a modern, industrial nation. Initially, the free markets were rudimentary, but what ultimately happened was that by the 1980s and 1990s, almost all industry that was state-owned had become highly unprofitable due to pricing reforms, much like in the Soviet Union. The Chinese knew that without privatization, their system would fall just like the Russian one. Therefore, the People's Republic of China gradually made a transition to a system in which all resource allocations are made on the basis of prices, and in which most of the means of production are in PRIVATE HANDS, causing many people, both communist and capitalist, to wonder how the Chinese system actually differs from outright capitalism. Furthermore, the Chinese goverment cares a lot less about the conditions and safety of their workers than the Americans.
So with essentially free markets, endless amounts of hideously cheap labor, and a fun system of propaganda in place to fool people that it's actually socialism, they are beating EVERYONE in the world.
=======================
****
Third. Sure, whatever, I guess I don't know "how this works" and am "politico/economic" inept. Well then by all means, explain it to me. Explain to me why we can't remain on top even though our damn government is built on the free market economy system. give me an email, it should be fucking hysterical
****
=======================
I don't understand your point. You don't understand what you're talking about. You ADMIT that you don't understand what you're talking about, and yet you still spew bullshit about how the U.S. government is based on "the free market system." Actually our economy is based on the free market system (and it's not an absolutely free market, it's got a lot of socialist-like regulations controlled by our government), and our government is based on a republic system.
I'd rather not send you an email.
=======================
****
Fourth Freedom is efficient economically, so why the hell are we almost tied.
****
=======================
Do you also have the box score? Define freedom and apply it to propaganda and progress. Major in Sociology and Psychology and then talk about relevant importance of "freedom" and economies.
=======================
****
Fifth, they are only 4.5 times bigger, and the have somewhat more than a third of our economy, and are growing rapidly and consistently
****
=======================
Again, did you read this in some sort of Reader's Digest? What does "one third of our economy" mean? An economy is an intangible thing that has just two basic characteristics: it is an always-changing, impossible to conceptualize thing, and it is always fooling anyone who tries to describe it as anything other than an always-changing, impossible to conceptualize thing. Four and a half times larger than the U.S. is no small feat, and with that kind of manpower (cheap manpower at that), it's no wonder their GDP is growing faster than your cabinet of false intellect.
=======================
****
Finally, If the calibur of people whom "can string more than two words together" are represented by people like, well, you, than I am glad I am above that IQ bracket
****
=======================
You can have all the IQ you want, but as long as you spew knowledge you learned in an Intro to World History course, without any reality or sensible opinions to back it up, you will always be uninformed, which is really the only thing that matters in the world.

I'm ashamed that my country produces politico/economic-idiots like you. Yes, China will probably bury us one day, but communism won't have anything to do with it. If you want to know what the possible future of China looks like look at Tiawan. They have fist-fights in their legislature, but the government stays out of the way of free enterprise and they kick ass economically. If China figures out how to employ its population efficiently, instead of starving them in the countryside - look out world - if not expect revolution and anarchy.

They aren't beating you at your own game! The reason they are improving faster is because they're in a fucked up position and have ROOM to improve. If you're going 55mph because you have a lot of gas, and someone else with less gas is going 25mph, and they add gas in order to go... 10mph faster (35mph,) they are accelerating more rapidly, because they have room to accelerate more, because you're already at the top speed. It's the same with the states and china. The person who is accelerating more because they suck because they have more room to improve isn't beating the other person at their own game.

Our own game? The United States invented acting to produce? (which capitalism makes easier)
In order for China to become in a posiion where it could be more powerful than the states, it would have to become free enough to allow that economic efficecny (freedom is efficient.) If it got to that point, it would be okay for China to have that power. However, they wont get to that point, becuase if they come much more economically free than they are now, it wont be communism, and the dictators will have no idealoligie to use to stay in power. So, they are either goign to stay under the states, or become a democratic capitalist country.
You do know that China has 1/3 the economy of the states, even though it has about 5 times as many people?

Absolutely!
In fact, let's dispense with voting for leaders altogether!
That way the best possible leaders can rise to the top without having to worry about explaining his/her position to the public.
And then, when they dissolve whatever remnants of parliament/congress remain in place, we can be grateful knowing that our dear leader has our best interests at heart, and that we'll soon beat China back into the stone age!
Thank god you came along and pointed this out.
