Inside the apartment Lindsey was finally starting to calm down. After she'd knocked the guy in the head and watched him leave for the second time she had begun to pace around her apartment to try and burn off some of her energy. Slowly her anger had worn off, although her questions about what had just taken place began to build up even more.

She'd called Rachel, the one who had supposedly left the door unlocked. It may have been really late, but if her friend had really been so absent minded and caused a complete stranger to enter her house, then she didn't mind waking her up. Unfortunately, Rachel had sworn to the fact that she'd locked the door when she left, and Lindsey believed her. Rachel may have done stupid things at times, but she would always own up to them when she did.

So now she was just baffled as to how he'd gotten inside. The door didn't show any sign whatsoever of being broken into. Of course, he could have just picked the lock. But that still didn't answer the question of why he would have chosen her apartment to break into. Despite what she wanted to think, he had seemed to be telling the truth when he said he meant no harm. She'd checked most of her major valuables and nothing was missing. And he had simply been sleeping before she went off on him.

None of it made a bit of sense. She really couldn't even figure out why she'd gotten so angry in the first place. It would have been one thing if she'd woken up to someone searching her apartment for valuable items, but the man had just been sleeping. It really wasn't like her to be violent, but she guessed that most people weren't themselves when they woke up in the middle of the night and found some stranger in their house.

Lindsey was lying on the couch at the moment watching television. She wanted to sleep, but knew that it would be impossible at the moment. Not with all these questions swirling through her head.

The phone rang. At first she attempted to get up to go answer it, but then realized that it wasn't her phone. Confused, she stood up to try and track the sound, and realized that it was coming from below her. She bent down to the floor and looked under the couch. There was a cell phone there, and she brought it out. The number flashing said that someone from the man's home was trying to call him. Probably some loved one worrying about where he was. She didn't answer, but she did go through the phone's settings until she found its number, and wrote it down. Then she set the phone back under the couch. That way if he ever came back for it, it would seem as if she hadn't known it was there. Just a small safety precaution, in case he did have intentions other than just sleeping. Having his cell phone number would make it much easier for the police to track him if it ever came to that.

Lindsey lay back on the couch and continued to watch the bland late-night television programming. After a while she started to drift off, still thinking about how the man could have gotten in the apartment.

She wanted to ram her head against the wall a couple hundred times when she figured it out. Sometimes the most obvious things took the longest to figure out. Rachel had locked the door on her way out, but to do that she had to have had her own key, which she didn't. She had used the spare key that Lindsey kept hidden in (yes in, not under) the doormat. The man must have found this key and used it. Which meant that he might still have it. This thought was quite unsettling, and she decided she better go check the mat if she were to be able to sleep soundly that night.

It was a little meh, but the grammar was alright.

Apu: You look familiar, sir. Are you on the television or something?

Homer: Sorry, buddy. You got me confused with Fred Flintstone.
