Can someone please explain to me why calling someone/thing "gay" or "ghey" is an insult? It must be considered such, as pretty much any post on ubersite lacking the word CAMWHORE is deemed "gay/ghey."(yes I know its a generalization, I don't need replies with links to prove me wrong) That means that many of you must think it is particularly insulting, alhough why I cannot say.
In fact, I find it confusing that a site like Ubersite, which seems home to some very smart people, has suffered such a moronic pratice to continue. It is simply astounding the most common reply here is "thats gay", "your gay", or my new favorite "xxxxx.isagaylord.com" In fact, a simple search of ubersite for the word gay nets two-hundred results, and ghey get one forty-five. And thats just posts with gay in their name. I'll bet on nearly seventy-five percent of this site, the words gay/ghey makes an appearance.
And it is just disgusting that people do this. Gay is not an insult, gay is a lifestyle choice. It has the same meaning as saying somethings straight, or anything like that. What the hell kind of homophobic git does one have to be to use it in an insulting fashion. So what if someone is gay, thats their choice. And calling someone gay when they're not is far more insulting to the person using the word. They might as well say: "I'm so smart, I buy into an illogical stereotype because I lack the cognitive power to insult people in an accurate, humorous, original, or even basically insulting fashion." If your trying to insult someone like this, at least pick a lifestyle that in and of itself entails negativity; "gangsta" for instance. Try to think about things people. Most of you are, at the very least, marginally intelligent people, you should know this.

But yes, "ghey" is a word that makes me angry. Alternative spellings of words aren't supposed to be longer to spell than the original, and they are certainly not supposed to have useless letters that add nothing to the pronunciation; this makes them look even more retarded. Whoever came up with that should be ganked.
Equally retarded is l33t-sp34k. That I know how to spell it in those terms makes me less of a person, I know, but it makes me angry that it's there.

I use gay in my vocabulary A LOT. 'That's gay' 'What a fag' 'That's homo-gay' 'What a fucking faggot'...etc.
However, I've had to cool that talk at work, as I work with two lesbians who had told me NUMEROUS times that gay is not slang for 'bad.'
Frankly, I use the words so much they've lost meaning. Just like the word cunt. I was on this rant in the Ikea the other day about how much I hated this 'cunty table' and there were children standing right next to me.
'Ass' and 'damn' used to be taboo for television, now you hear them everywhere. It's just the way shit goes.
