I fucking hate you.
The feeling is mutual. The ragged reflection staring back at me obviously has grown to hate me just as much as I hate it, hate myself, for getting into this goddamn box and letting them fire me off into space towards the Bohr Coordinates.
Why didn't I break this mirror?

The probe's waste treatment system swallows my offerings as always.
Some jackass back on Earth is probably rolling in money for having come up with a design for this thing. Turdcooker 5000 or something. Heats the waste, distills the water back out of it for me. uses the rest to grow algae in some unit back in there, makes veggie cakes while generating oxygen. I'm eating my own shit to supplement the limited food and oxygen stores. Figures.
You didn't break the mirror because you need to know you are still you. Maybe so that you can talk to yourself and pretend. Because you're cracking, and you know it.
I taped over the portholes three months ago. There was nothing to see, anyhow. Just Dark. More and more of it.. Stretching on forever. I'm in The Stream, and only God knows where it's taking me. All alone with nothing but mystery outside the thin pressure hull.
The Stream. Dark matter. a racing river of it, running through the solar system and out. The space station, hulking in the harsh light near the spot they try and get us to jump in. If I ever make it back, I'll kill those greedy corporate fucks who sent me out here. The ship rocks and creaks in it, settles like a ship sinking to the bottom of the sea and here I am stuck inside. Ship in a bottle has nothing on a schmuck in a can.

No asshole. The ship stopped moving.
Why do I talk to myself? Fuck. Quit arguing with yourself and go figure out what that noise was!
