For those of you who don't know, Paul Winchell was the Grammy Award winning voice of Tigger and inventor of the artificial heart (among other things). He died today in his home in LA.
His work first as a ventriloquist made him famous; he subsequently voiced an extremely popular cartoon character and holds the patents to many inventions. While unknown to the majority of the general public, Paul Winchell was a fricken pimp. He lived more of life than most everyone and kicked ass doing it.
Rest in peace Winch...

Tigger was the best character on the Pooh show. I hated that show. I always wanted to shoot the rabbit.

You know what's kind of funny? When I read this this morning, I read it as "the guy who did the voice of Tony the Tiger died." So when I got to the picture, I thought you were doing that wacky mixed-up dead celebrity thing. Imagine my disappointment to find out I was wrong on all accounts.

too bad he was a horrible abuser. His daughter (a comedian who called in to Howard Stern this morning) says he abused both her and her mother the entire time she was growing up, and they hadn't spoken for about 10 years dues to his violent outbursts.
Who knew Tigger was not only a wife-beater, but a child molester too?
