I'm an Albertan. I am a conservative and I am straight.
Last night the federal government of Canada made us the third nation in the world to legalize gay marriage.
You know what I think...
It's about time.
This is a huge advancement for civil rights in Canada.
There are going to be a lot of people that will be outraged by this, but that is their problem. As far as I'm concerned, gay marriage will never affect me. This law isn't going to force churches to marry them, and the tax payers will not see any more money being taken out of their pockets for this. What we will see, however, is couples that love each other being married. They will be eligible for the same benefits and legal loopholes as heterosexual couples. The economy will get a subtle boost due to niche markets sprouting up that cater to gay marriage. Tourism will get a boost from gay couples travelling here from the US to get married.
I don't see a down side to this.
I'm not very comfortable with the next step that this legislation will bring, which is gay couples being able to adopt. But, I suppose a gay household full of love is better than a kid being bounced around from foster home to foster home.
But, then again, what do I know?

It looks like Stella got her groove back from a Ghey man.
I personally don't think gay marrige should be an issue, they have the same rights as everyone else, making it legal is changing the definition of marriage. The only good thing I can see about gay marrige is that maybe some of those retards in the parades will get married and their "husband" will tell them to stop acting like such an idiot.
By the way, why is America always getting bashed for not allowing this when only three other countries in the world do?
