don't drive in wisconsin... pointless rant (423 hits)

I was pulled over for driving 73mph in a 50 on Interstate 43 in Wisconsin last month. Today I had court.
The bailiff was a surprisingly good looking blond and she ran through the procedure for plea deals before the judge walked out.
If you were caught for a moving violation other than speeding you get NOTHING on your driving record and pay court costs of $25 dollars.
If you got caught going 24-over or less (me) you get a conviction of failure to read a posted sign (WTF?) But the fine stays the same, $ 209.30.
Fuck, I hoped to get the fine knocked down near the $100 dollar range. As I wait for my name to be called everyone before me walks up and takes the deal. Then this girl that I was sitting next to walks up. They offer her the deal of NOTHING on your driving record and pay court costs only. She replies with a defiant "No." The pretty bailiff laughs and says. "Ok then." In a way only a true wisconsinite can speak. Then the judge says., "You do realize that you wouldn't get any points on your license?"
The girl replies that she does, he rolls his eyes, they give her a court date and everyone in the courtroom chuckles.
I was next and agreed to my deal. 209 dollars for driving 73 on an interstate. I'm from chicago and 73 miles per hour will get you passed by yellow fucking school buses.
Wisconsin sucks, everyone drives 65 in the left lane and when you pass them you get a ticket.
I hope the dumb bitch gets convicted of whatever she did and loses her license.

Not only do they suck, but they prey on us drivers from IL. Watch the pack on the WI roads...especially on 94. The WI drivers will all sit right behind you keeping up with you if they see an IL license plate...then the cop nabs you and doesn't even bother with them.

Think that's bad...there's a small village down here near Peoria called Germantown Hills. Damn officer pulled me over and ticketed me for going TWO (yes, 2) FRICKING MPH over the speed limit! 57 in a 55. Rationale? It's a rich white man's suburb and the asshat cops have nothing better to do than shoot radar guns at all of four blocks worth of state route 116.
Moral of the story: don't ever speed in Woodford County, IL.
