It's an article about some guy named Omarion, who is an R&B singer, apparently. Here is the section that pissed me off. (Paragraph four)
"'He was in London for Saturday's Live 8 show,' his publicist Shana Gilmore told Reuters from Los Angeles. Asked why anyone should pray for him, Gilmore said, 'He wasn't hurt or anything, but just the fact that he was there and all that.'"
This jackass is asking people to pray for him, even though he was in no way, shape, or form injured by the blasts yesterday morning in London. How can you even make that ok in your own head? God, I just want to kick him in the teeth so badly. How have we let ourselves, as a culture, reach this level of selfishness and obnoxiousness to the point where "famous" people request our prayer when even as we speak, the injured are in intensive care in hospitals around London? I can't even imagine what actual victims will think about this if they find out about it.
Like I said, he needs a good kick in the teeth. I can't help but think of what my old uncle Pat used to tell me: "Stop crying, or I'll give you something to cry about. Now, go get me another beer." Wise words in these troubling times.
