Disney was nice, 30 years ago. Back when it made quality movies, like the original 'Fantasia'. But its movies today blow monkey nuts. Today, I had the displeasure of viewing 'Treasure Planet' at my school. For all of you who don't know, it sucks. Enough said. What I propose is that we sell it to the one remaining company left; Nestle. (For all of those who don't know, Nestle owns about 8 trillion other commercial companies). It is time to do away with Disney

I've ALWAYS hated Disney. The way they take classic fairy tales, such as Beauty and the Beast, and turn them into singing and dancing pieces of shit that barely touch on the original story makes me ill.
Disney world sucks too. Space Mountain didn't make my stomach flip once. The Dragon Coaster at Playland Park in Rye, NY is a bigger rush. (The one they rode in Fatal Attraction :-)
When I went through the "it's a small world ride" - just to get out of the rain, mind you - I seriously contemplated drowning myself. If I had been a kid at the time, I would have had nightmares for years over that one.

I used to work at Disney World..
I was a character.. Chip and Dale, Pluto, Winnie, Tigger..
They are a HUGE monopolizing organization, but they do bring family values
into an otherwise sex and violence addicted nation.
Im not saying that they shouldnt rot in hell for creating false idols and such,
but the amount of revenue and taxes that they generate completely keep the
state of Florida from being a po-dunk, swamp infested breeding ground for
red necks.. AKA Mississippi.

Disney is pissing me off with their threatening commercials that say "You better buy this video now because in one month it will go back in the Disney vault; never to be seen or sold again." They know that the kids are watching the commercials. They know that the kids will freak out and start crying and pleading with mom and dad to hurry and buy the video, now, Now, NOW! Disney's movies deserve better than that, don't they? Alice in Wonderland or Bambi or Fantasia are really gonna locked away? Please. Walt's frozen head must be spinning in it's beaker.

Disney classics are good. "Sleeping Beauty" was the first movie I ever sa. My parents too k me and my brothers to a drive-in. We saw that and 'Smokey and the Bandit' all in the same night.
Its the bastardised pieces of monkey excrement that they mass-produce these days that people are on about.
'Hunchback of Notre Dame' is a perfect example. They took one of the greatest works of Western literature and turned it into a 85 minute kiddy cartoon with talking gargoyles! And then they make a sequel! How do you make a sequel to a movie adapted from a book where everyone dies in the end? By screwing it into unrecognisability, thats how

Oh my god I cant believe this uprising against Disney! What about the classics? Lady and the Tramp? 101 Dalmations? The Jungle Book? Dont tell me you never sat for hours watching those when you were a kid? I have never seen any Disney films since the Rescuers Down Under so I cant say Ive seen Hercules and the rest but you cant do away with Disney! Thats my childhood!

i completely agree with you there bart!
i mean, look at the lousy versions of The Hunchback and Hercules to name two. they've taken literary works and legends and "Disneyfied" them to the point where, if not for the title, they'd be unrecognizable as the originals.
if they weren't doing that, i'd have no problem with them...but bastardizing someone elses work is plagarism, plain and simple.

I hate disney because they:
a) Reap the benefits of public domain art (Aladdin, Hunch Back, etc.)
b) Steal other people's works (Jungle Book, Winnie the Pooh)
and then they have the nerve to buy their own copyright extension acts to ensure that nothing ever again enters the public domain. Disney got their foot in the door and now they're doing their best to keep everyone else out.
Additionally, they use copyright law much like the "church" of Scientology to bury the truth from public eyes... in this case, about their racist past (see Song of the South, Brer Rabbit and the Tar Baby - http://pages.tias.com/102/PictPage/1920839863.html)
Personally, I think Disney Inc. should have its corporate charter revoked and sold for scrap with all its copyrights being released into the public domain.

You were watching 'Treasure Planet' on school? Whatever happened to actual education? Disney movies encourage people to bring their children to the movie theatres. Children in theatres are a bad thing and this trend must be stopped. Therefore Disney movies must cease to exist.

Emperor's New Groove was fucking hilarious. I try to watchit when I"m feeling blue.
I also liked Mulan. Or, rather, this song:
"Let's get down to business, to defeat, the Hun (Huuuuah!)
Did they send me daughters? When I asked...for sons?
You're the saddest bunch I've ever met, and you can bet, before we're through
Mister I'll, make a man, out've you"
ahhhh
i love you mulan

I am a Disney stock holder. You dont wanna do away with Disney. Disney also owns ABC, ESPN, and their subsideries (sp?). Also the Mighty Ducks and the Angels (but they are about to sell them). Disney makes this otherwise shitty world a nice place. C'mon you cant hate everything they do. Unless you dont have a heart.

Hercules kicked ass, so did the little mermaid. Most of their movies suck though.

If you got rid of Disney you'd get rid of Miramax(Jay and Silent Bob, Pulp Fiction) you get rid of hollywood records(the suicide machines) Pixar (a bugs life, toy story)and many, many other entertainment companies.
"the emperors new groove" was THE funniest disney movie ever.
Peace,

If you want to do away with Disney, you also better get rid of Squaresoft (the makers of Final Fantasy games) because Squaresoft is a subsidiary of Disney.

I think that we ought to do away with romantic comedies. I liked Treasure Planet a lot, and I think that Emperor's New Groove was the funniest Disney movie in years. Kids who watch Disney don't think that life is like a Disney movie, just like how people who watch Notting Hill know that romances are never that step-by-step easy. I agree that a lot of what comes out of Hollywood is formulaic crap, and that it would do well to take lessons from Spirited Away and other such imaginative fare.

If you want to put an end to Disney, stop going to Disney movies, taking your kids to Disneyworld, and buying Disney merchandise.

More like +999 I have hated Disney for years. I believe it gives childrne a false sense of happiness. Children grow up thinking the world is all about fuzzly love and bunnies and princes. They should know ythe truth form a yuong age so they are prepared for all of lifes bullshit. But thats just me. Im all for going to Disneyworld and sniping Mickey.
