This post was an official UberMadness! entry. Click here to view the original matchup.

The darkness began on November 25th and didn't lift January 18th, in this part of the world the sun wasn't seen for months at a time. Under the cover of the dark things weren't always as they seemed.

Prudhoe Bay was your average industrial town in Northern Alaska, the main employer was the oil company and the population was only about 100 people. Most were there to escape their pasts, so they headed as far away as America would allow.

"Sir it appears the entire town was wiped out sometime in early January."

Roger Kline the head of the FBI investigation had already come to this conclusion but he was more interested in the events leading up to the massacre. These small towns were the destination of choice for many criminals trying to find a job, get some cash and get out of the country. No one came looking for them and the companies didn't ask questions. Now this policy may have caused over 100 people to lose their lives.

So far the investigation had turned up 57 bodies but due to the ferocity of the attacks there were only body parts of some. It would be weeks before the actual number was determined and Special Agent Kline had a feeling that the number would be double.

The center of the carnage was a mine that had recently been discovered. From what Kline could tell it was there that the death began and spread to the rest of the small town. The walls were covered in blood and puddles had begun to accumulate in the lower parts of the mine. Body parts had been thrown around and the complete absence of order caused Kline to come to the conclusion that whatever had caused this was not from this world.

This is not what Kline had expected when he left his job at FBI Headquarters. He left to escape the mindless acts of violence that plagued this world and here he was staring at something almost unimaginable.

"Sir we have something for you to come look at."

Kline highly doubted that these local cops could find anything other than a donut and some coffee but until the team showed up he was in charge and it was his duty to check out everything, no matter how idiotic these people were.

What they showed him caused his stomach to turn. Lying in front of them was a creature that only could have been seen in a B-movie or perhaps a comic book.

"Special Agent Kline I think this is what caused the incident."

Way to go genius, Kline thought to himself.

As Kline examined the seemingly dead creature he saw an eye move. This thing had laid a trap that they had all fallen into.

The next 60 seconds saw Kline change from atheist to praying to any God that would listen. The shock caused him to neither fight back or run, he had come to the realization that this was his final assignment. As the creature tore through the men like they were paper cut outs, Kline wondered where this creature could have come from.

Then as the last man was killed the creature moved towards Kline. This thing was at least fifteen feet tall with jaws that could seemingly devour a car but the most disturbing feature was the two foot long talons attached to each leg. These were the preferred method of killing. Out of the corner of his eye he saw something written on the creature's leg.

Property of U.S. Biomed DEPT.

"How fucking appropriate." These were the last words spoken by Special Agent Kline.

RE: Subject 543546

The subject performed better than expected on the second of the three planned tests. Barring a failure in test three next year we would like for you to begin producing more of these to be used in the defense of our country.

Remember those who perished were criminals in hiding. The service you are performing far outweighs the few negative aspects.

Please keep us up to date on all future projects.

You know, some of these stories are pretty good. I never knew mice
lived such interesting lives.
