We see things differently.
US policy, despite the fact that Australia is one of the US's closest allies, is foreign to me. The way our government works is very different. Our Prime Minister HAS to prove himself all the time, there is no concept that if the president says something, we must blindly follow. That's off topic, but it's a taste of the differences of opinion.

Hair person: Hugo Chavez, the President of Venezuela, makes statements like these all the time
in his country. They are soley meant for consumption by his constituents. But they are also
nibbled on, by people in our own(US)country. Change the one important adverb in the statement
and it's been said in one form or another by both sides for the past 6 years.
Brain dead Robertson did what every little kid says when being arrested, or what an asshole
says when they're frustrated or feel like they're loosing whatever imaginary power they never
possessed to begin with. Other examples could go on ad infinum.
Venezeula represents 10% of our oil imports, plus it's proximity makes it even more valuable.
He (Chavez)is running scared. He knows that President Bush is....uh...susceptible to outside
and inside pressure, to "hammer" his ass. The same as we did to Saddam.
If we were not stuck in Iraq, he would have already been taken care of. An attempt was made,
but some, one of a kind in history, person screwed the pooch by nonfeasance more than
malfeasance.
Now that we're mired down in Iraq, our(US) object lesson is loosing it's effectiveness for
other oil producing countries. Not only that, it's also loosing it's luster for our own people
for quite a few obvious reasons.
This allows Chavez the opportunity to 'talk back' to us because he knows we're cock-blocked
in both Afganistan and Iraq.
Statements like Pat's fuck up contingency missions' that have been planned for years,
and will allow Chavez or more importantly his people an event to rally around with in the
event Chavez happens to choke on a pappas fritas.
Then you're back to a martyr, guerrilla warfare, and a host of oil wells on fire with billions
of dollars, again, being hemmoraged out of our economy, and a scenario of..well,sound familiar?
Robertson has also probably put quite a number of people under the microscope, who may or may
not be in his country already. 'Pat' at the least, has set back those 'missons' for a year or
so regardless if they have been presently implimented or not.
I would have had Robertson arrested for making a terrorist threat, considering the audience
and communication assets he has in place, but mostly for being so incredibilty stupid as to
pose a risk to our National Security.
And for giving that Fat Rat Bastard Chiva Fucker more ammunition to lob at us.
And for.........fuck it, I'm rambling now
But.....it won't happen because he's a Christen, and God(Bush?) will forgive him.

Oh, I think they can fuck up plenty more if given the opportunity. These assholes are the same people who don't want to ban stem cell research, which if allowed might save people from cancer or allow the paralyzed to walk again.
The state and church were seperated for a reason. We need to look no further than violent Islamic theocracies to see the dangers of a state laws based on man's interpretation of religion.
As for the American "religious right" evangelical christians, the seem to carry a good portion of vote, despite being complete hypocrits. Sadly, that doesn't say much about the country.
But the coup de grace for me is that these fuckers call abortion murder, but the killing of innocent civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan is "collateral damage" in the "war on terror". What the fuck ever. The world is a more violent and dangerous place now than it was when the Republicans took power in 2000.
Speaking of abortion, this Robertson guy is a poster child for it. Too bad we can't retroactively abort a 70 year old man.
