i just got back after seeing X-Men 2...here's a quick review and critique.
all told it's not too bad, we get a bit of a glimpse at Wolverine's past, but as far as staying true to the comic...well, i stopped reading comics years ago, but there were a few plot holes in it.
namely, Colossus wasn't russian. that sucked. there was a reference to Remy LeVeaux on a computer screen, so maybe Gambit will make an appearance next time. Henry McCoy was seen as a pre-mutated Beast on TV, and there was a very BIG hint that Phoenix will be a major role in X3.
Nightcrawler was done really well except for the fact that his *BAMF* was more like a muffled gunshot, and not nearly as dramatic as was drawn in the comic.
when all is said and done though, it was a pretty good adaptation of the comic...i mean, it has to be altered slightly so that people who've never read the comic will be able to pick up on it fairly quickly.
i'd say 7.5/10

Venom is cool,
He's a good guy.. just, he hates Spiderman.

I hated this movie. It was terrible. The only cool parts are any of the scenes where Wolverine is kicking ass, like the time he got shot in the head and then got back up. Other than that...

meh.
i still dig Wolvie. his charaacter is dark, brooding, and even though he's got the cliche "heart of gold" he's written so it doesn't seem overdone...
Venom's just a dude in a slimy suit.

Just as a side note, Wolverine is not the msot badass comic book character ever, he's up there but he's not the best. Venom, is the tightest character ever and he better damn well be in Spiderman3, that's my two cents.

Hell yea they should bring back Toad. Why? Because Darth Maul kicks ass even when he's not a Sith Lord.

if you never read the comic, then Nightcrawler was great! but i guess i just wanted them to do the *BAMF* a little more true to the book. all told though, the animation was done great for him, and the slow motion scene in the Oval Office kicked large bum.
i can't wait for the next one, i don't know how many sequels they have planned but i'm there for as many as they're willing to put out.
speaking of sequels, there's a Spiderman 2 and three coming out!

Definitely - Nightcrawler was done very well in the movie. I wish they'd bring back Toad though :(

As someone who only occasionally read X-Men, I have a more objective viewpoint than people who were diehard fans...
This movie rocked. It was significantly better than the first and this franchise has the best chance of lasting through a number of good sequels, as well as the potential for as many spinoffs as you can ask for.

I hope so. And I thought Nightcrawler was done so badass in this movie.
