I read a post by Badassmofo, intitled Fuck this ride! (http://www.ubersite.com/m/74431), i wrote this originally as a comment but got into it, so im posting here instead. You might want to read that post just to know what i'm talking about but, its not totally needed.

I agree with you 100%, its sad that the gangs are shooting people, and at helecopters who are trying to rescue and help people. Its sad that when this hostile take over attempt is put to an end, my pay check will be deducted so that skum of a crowd can reclaim their checks from uncle sam.
It sickens me how people rape, murder, and loot in times like this. If i werent a broke young adult, picking through my change jar trying to afford gas to and from work, any extra penny i had would be donated. It also sickens me to hear the negative remarks against president Bush, i know most dont like him, but he's walked into the office in the midst of a horrible era.
Bush didnt start terrorism, it was here before. Bush didnt cause the terrorist in russia to take control over a school killing innocent children, nor was he responsible for the bomb scare resulting in stampede in Iraq killing thousands, the only thing he is guilyt of, is making a decision and who are we to judge. Who here has ever had a discion to make harder than, "Which car to buy, what to eat for dinner, or what shirt should i wear today?" Petty luxuries, most sceptics, and critics wouldnt have the balls to step up and fill his shoes.
More so, its sad to see that we as Americans are forgetting who and what we really are. A democratic nation, we have the right to make changes too. Who will make the stand? Who will rise to the occasion and say something is wrong? Im sick of people talking about how bad things are, i've always beleived that we create our own reality, and all this negativity isn't the path to take.
My heart goes out to these people, not as a fellow American citizen, but as a fellow human being. I sometimes wonder, in a dark corner of my mind, when the second coming will occure. And more and more, i hope sooner, and sooner. Not in the light that i want to die, but in the light that i want to live, with the reaction of the people in the times of dizaster im not sure i feel safe anymore.
I once thought of the world a beautiful place, the way the sky looks on a clear blue day, the wind on your face, and the way the smell of corn fields flood your senses. Its hard to see this image with the thoughts of the current situation tarnishing my thoughts like storm clouds. I know there is nothing we can do to prevent these situations, but we can help how we react. The sad thing is, no matter how much we at uber write about it, we're preaching to the wrong crowd. Undearneath all the -2's we're all kind people, even the ones who write the most obscene posts.
What can we do uber? How can we, the computer people, help our nation. Long enough have we wired the infrasructure for the man, long enough have we slaved endless hours in the smallest of cubicles growing further and further detatched from the world around us, just so the man can get richer, and the poor get poorer. But still, what can we do to save ourselves? Is there a way out of this downward spiral of civilization? Is there a way to pull us all back together or have we already spun to far our of reach from one another?

that is fairly impressive considering you're 24 posts in. Sorry, can't get with you on the whole Bush thing. While he isn't liable for all he certainly has had a hand in a lot of the turmoil he's "endured".

I can tell you're thinking in the right direction... minus the whole bush thing... but you're dodging all the real issues about what's causing such tension.
Everyone who was left in hurricane city was either too poor to leave, too stupid to leave, or stayed there with the thought that everyone else was leaving and there would be a lot of free shit just laying there for the taking.
