Damnit.
Damnit all to hell.
This is in response to an ass I work with, most of which I said to him personally. But seeing how I decided to go and get 'faced tonight at the bar, I thought I would get it all off my chest.
A natural disaster hit, who knows how much it is going to eventually cost.
But all you can do is try to find some way to turn this into a freaking POLITICAL DEBATE?
Aid will come as soon as it can. Its not like we are going to let them fend for themselves. Just because people are black doesnt mean we are going to make them suffer.
How much have you sent in to support the aid/cleanup? We arent in Communist China or the old Soviet Union. Just because someone has money doesnt mean they HAVE to support something. If Bill Gates doesnt want to send in money, nothing says he has to. If all the Nascar guys dont want to do it, then so be it. So what Brett Favre's mother lives in one of the stricken states. He DID do something. He loaded a semi truck with stuff to bring it those in need, but even if he didnt, it isnt up to you to make him. Do your part, dont worry what others do.
Dubya had nothing to do with Katrina. He didnt cause it so he could profit by it. I will bet you he isnt sitting back in the White House crowing, and no matter what you think, he isnt out to totally destroy the USA. Get a fucking life already, your guy lost last year. No, we DONT know how he would have handled it, and dont have to worry about that, do we? I am sick and tired of you turning everything into a Dubya debate.
I would think you would support the troops, seeing how you went to 'Nam and had to come back to all the bullshit. Even if you dont like the reason we are there, YOU of all people should be supportive for them poor guys over there.
Just because we are both middle management doesnt mean we have the same views.
I would think you would have realized this when you saw the W '04 pin I wore during the election.
Just because we are from the same general geographic area doesnt mean we like or believe the same things.
Lets just stick to sports. Hows about your Yankees? Still behind my Red Sox in the standings, maybe they will make the wild card. I would hope so, considering they spend the most for the talent. It would be a shame if they were knocked out somehow.
Oh. Did I hit a sore spot? well, lets just not speak to each other then, huh?

Never expect a Vietnam vet to agree to war. The government abandoned them upon their return. The anti-war movement turned the citizens against them.

I dont expect him to agree with the war, but due to what he came home to I would hope that he could at least show some love towards the poor volunteers who are already over there.

Never expect a Vietnam vet to agree to war. The government abandoned them upon their return. The anti-war movement turned the citizens against them. Many languish in VA hospitals with a huge assortment of physical and mental issues. The ones strong enough to withstand the memories still retain psychological and emotional scars that have taken decades to grow around. The boys across the pond now are volunteers, his generation was forced by the draft.
