When Robert had finally fought his way to the top of the hill, he felt very good. Not only had he beaten Will and Jonathan, he'd beaten every other person in the game. Now that he was King of the Mountain, he wanted never to give up his reign over the others. He was so proud.
The game lasted a long time, and Robert was very good. Nobody could beat him, and he was King of the Mountain for a very long time. As much as Joseph, Henry, George, Daniel, and the others tried, they could not push Robert off of the top. Some, instead of trying to push Robert off, tried to stay as high up as possible without getting knocked down themselves. However, Robert was very cunning and ran around the summit looking for people who were getting too close. Sometimes he let people go on purpose, and went after specific people. He wasn't very fond of Walter, so he pushed him off every time.
Of course, it was very hard to keep everyone off of the top of the hill. There were over two hundred people playing, and while Robert was very strong, he had a hard time keeping his reign. Sometimes, two boys would join together and try to take over the hill, and these alliances made Robert's job very difficult. But he was not going to give up. While there had been others before him, Robert believed that none of the others deserved to be king. He had worked so hard.
But after a very long time, Robert got tired. Even Walter began to get closer and closer to the top, no matter how hard Robert tried to keep him away. Jonathan was especially dangerous, and was getting stronger every time he pushed another boy off.
Of course it was all in good spirits, and none of the boys got hurt. They all knew each other and while they weren't always on good terms, they liked to play. Many of them were even in a club together. They had a magnificent treehouse and they had secret meetings every week.
As the game went on, however, the boys began to get very mad at Robert.
"It's not fair, Robert," one would say.
"You've been up there far too long, Robert...give someone else a go!"
But Robert never did. Many of the boys started to think him rather greedy, and started trying even harder to push him off.
When Thomas was running up the hill during a charge, he fell, and dug his hands into the earth. Suddenly, he had a thought. He grabbed two fistfuls of the brown dirt, and ran at Robert full speed. Robert didn't see the dirt until it was too late. Thomas threw the clumps of soil at Robert with all his strength, and they hit him full in the face, blinding him temporarily. Even though Thomas attacked with all his strength, Robert still managed to fend him off and wipe the soil from his eyes.
"You filthy little sneak!" Robert yelled. "That's not fair! You're out of the game!"
But his accusation was answered only with jeers.
Robert continued to protest, but nobody would listen because they all disliked him so very much.
After Thomas' "attack" the boys began to use things other than dirt to throw at Robert. Some picked up rocks, some threw sticky mud, and some even threw their own shoes.
Robert was losing the game quickly. The boys were more courageous after Thomas' charge, and though Thomas didn't participate as much as he had before, he still threw a spirited handful of mud at Robert when he felt the time was ripe.
After a few minutes of planning, all the boys suddenly rushed at Robert. Though he fought well, Robert was pushed off of the hill. But the boys didn't stop. They kicked Robert. They punched him. They let all their anger spill out of them. It wasn't fair. He had hogged the hill. He deserved it.
When they finally relented, Robert's face was bloody, and he had many scrapes and cuts on his body.
"Y-y-you guys don't play fair! I hate you! I hate you all!" he screamed at them, crying as he spat the words at them from bloody lips. "I'm going home!"
And so he did.
The boys decided that since it was still light out, they would play some more. Thomas was the new king, because he had been the first to throw earth at Robert.
As Thomas looked down the hill at the other boys, he felt pride for having beaten Robert and become King of the Hill. But his pride did not show through the layer of fear coating his face. The truth slowly dawned on him that perhaps he had been better fighting with the other boys. At least then he was fighting with someone who shared a common goal. Now he was completely alone. And though he knew he was good at playing the game, he also knew that even someone as good as Robert cannot win all the time. He knew that sometime, sooner or later, he was going to lose.
The boys began to rush up the hill.

I wanted to rate higher, because I like where it could have gone ... but, it felt disappointing.
Originally, I thought it'd be a political rant/analogy.
Then, as I read further, I assumed more of a tame Battle Royale or Lord of the Flies sort.
But ... it didn't really turn to be either.
Sorry, I wanted to give this a positive.

First rule: You do not talk about King of the Mountain. Second rule: There are no rules.
What about rule one?
Thats more of a guideline really.
You get a plus one for making me think about "Out Cold". I love that movie.

Sorry dude, but this just wasn't very good. My complaint is that there's nothing to this story that makes it interesting or unique. I'll give you a +1 though because at least you tried to post something decent and not just some dumbass picture or some stupid shit post that I have been seeing a lot of lately.
