First, I rip on people who complain about their sad little unique existence, not about their own fucking countries.
Second, I do change the circumstances by putting in RÉER (I'm guessing shitfuck could translate that) and get a yearly significant tax reimbursement, even though I don't really need them. Plus, I have applied to a few jobs in Western Canada but I like this wonderful city and I make a decent salary for my age.
That still doesn't change the fact that the society I live in pays outrageous taxes and one cause of that is paying indefinitly for people who chose laziness for a career. A problem that could easily be solved, unlike healthcare or other social programs.
Anything else to share, you not-so-intelligent person? No? Thought so.

I totally agree. I just finished working at a shitty factory for a year to pay for college. Unemployment Insurance wouldn't pay me basically because "I've already got a job.". I shoveled dirt into boxes as fast as I can for minimum wage. However a welfare bum who barely showed up or passed high school would get an ALL expense paid trip to College. Especially if they had a bunch of illegitimate children (Free daycare). They get money for school, a weekly paycheque, supplies, money to travel etc... I guess those sort of people are just a better investment than an A student whose worked his ass off to go to school.

I benefited from welfare for 3 months after being forced to shut down my company by corrupted inspectors sent by the competition.
The revenue was so low that I grew cannabis, found a job and went back to school.
Now I work in the wonderful world of corporations and pay a lot of taxes. Still better than on welfare.
They say a guy on welfare can't get out of it after 4 months. Guess I dropped welfare in time.
The solution for this "injustice" is to put a time limit like 5 years per lifetime. If in 5 years of welfare, being able to work, you have not developped any skills and qualifications and have not found a job, you deserve to die from cold and hunger.
If you are not able to work for physical or psychological reasons, you should earn the average of the population in your area out of a charity fund.

Talked to my dad last week. The old man went off on the gov't again. He did 25 years in the Cdn Air Force, went all over the world doing shit for them and the UN (kids in tow) did another long spell for DND, and now that he is retired every time he turns around some fuck of the hill cuts into his pension. Sad shit.
It's just as bad down here.
At least we have better TV and more guns.
Which means we can ignore the outside world...

Do the natives in Quebec get royalty payouts when they hit 18?
In Alberta, for each reserve or 'tribe' that the native belongs to they are entitled to a portion of the money made from natural resources (a little bit simplified, but accurate enough) so if the native has ties to a couple of tribes, they double or triple their money--

I don't think it's the west that cares, it's the politicians. For example:
Some conservative MP recently mentioned that Ottawa would be looking to take a large chunk of the provincial surplus this year--immediatley it gets turned into a 'take our money and give it to Quebec' type of thing. Which it isn't--what most westerners don't know is that Quebec's budget is geared towards decreasing federal transfer payments. Each year, out of all the have not provinces, only Quebec has been doing this.
Now that's the story they should be selling to the West.

The natives in Québec are treated like God.
They don't pay electricity because our massive dams were built on "their" land.
They don't pay taxes on cigarettes.
They are paid to go to college and universities (none of them do).
They recieve ski-doos for transportation and as soon as one is out of gas, the hell with towing it, they leave it and get another one for free.
They have no limit or restraints on fishing and hunting.
They pull out weapons on white people who venture/work near their territory like it has happens to two friends of mine and get away with it.

I have a suggestion for you--
Get yourself a business number, depending on where you are in Canada you should be able to get one at a Registries Office(where you do your car stuff).
Okay--
Step 1. Become a consultant, set your Billable rate to something like $100 + per hour.
Step 2. Have a friend deposit let's say $500 into your business account--make sure you invoice them and the invoice details the details of your 'consulting' work.
Step 3. Have your friend write YOU an invoice for HIS/HER consulting work for your company. TYhe value of this 'work' should be more than the original $500 he/she paid to your company.
Step 4.Write off your friends consulting work as an expense, make sure to watch your GST ITC's and Liability.
Step 5. Be aware that homebased sole proprietorships can write off a portion of thier home expenses if a portion of the home is used to earn business income--this means that a percentage of your utilities, mortgage, household requirements are expensed under the business number. Also, you should recognize that use of your vehicle can 'earn' you money or at least decrease the amount of tax owing (insurance, registration, fuel, repairs, parking, depreciation, etc. become an allowable business expense if you use that vehicle to earn business income, there are some finer rules around this, but really it doesn't matter.)
Step 6. Give your business a LOSS (you pay more to your friend's consulting firm than he/she pays to yours).
Step 7. Continue to earn a regular pay check, and pay tax on that amount. Take $500 and invest it in the worst comapny you can find--you WANT to lose this money.
Step 8. Include the LOSS (In Canada it's called an ABIL--Allowable Business Investment Loss) against the amount of tax you have paid through your regular job.
Step 9. File GST quarterly reports, with this setup (2-5 people) you can easily pull in $500-$1000 per quarter.
Step 10. Hire a CA or CMA to file your returns--this gives a nice buffer zone between the CRA and your business.

Do the natives in Quebec get royalty payouts when they hit 18?
In Alberta, for each reserve or 'tribe' that the native belongs to they are entitled to a portion of the money made from natural resources (a little bit simplified, but accurate enough) so if the native has ties to a couple of tribes, they double or triple their money--
Here's the kick,
The payout is almost always $50k per tribe, tax free of course.
Guess how long it takes for those kids to blow it...

Anyway,
The best thing that Canada could do for our native population is to null and void every single treaty we have with them.
It's our handouts that really keep them from being a proud and vibrant culture again.
They should do it for themselves, and if they can't--too bad, so sad.
