Black Scabbity Tran vs scalding himself in the bath

Black Scabbity Tran turned both taps and sat on the side of the bath. He reached across to where the the bath salts stood and carefully selected a bottle. These he had made himself, with baking soda, epsom salt and scented oils. He would even add glycerin, which he had purchased from the local drug store.

He carefully removed the stopper and gently poured the salts into the tub. The soda and salts fizzed and hissed, the oils combined with the bubbling effervescence and sent up wafts of redolent steam that splashed against his face and flushed his pores.

He knew the salts would sting at first, they always did, biting and burrowing into the exposed sores, cleansing the exudate from the cankers and lesions that had overrun his emaciated frame, but he would endure the pain for the end result.

Black Scabbity Tran stood and carefully tested the water with his toes. "Way too hot," he thought to himself. He put them back in his pocket and turned off the hot water, let the cold continue to run, and began to undress.
