V8
Maroon morass
Unfathomable depths of
health and pulp.
Slugging down to puckered lips;
A kiss only a blender could love.
Bramble foreign to
untainted tissue
The Spinach Armada sails stately by.
Tomato, amorous beast to the buds
celery looks on from afar
(A matter best settled on the gastric circuit.)
Lemon spritz, the last hurrah:
A gruesome mystique
That snaps!
After the last swallow.
Death atoll
remains on the rim-
Felten thorns of vegetable confetti.
A film with no credits,
Just a fine red cast

The last two lines were especially good, I thought.

This was awesome. I don't know why; it just was.

Just admit it. This is TL's friend, so you're sucking up in hopes of nailing one of them.

This was funny. Reminded me of Douglas Adams. 'Course, I happen to be reading his stuff right now, but makes me think of the "Ode to a Small Lump of Green Putty I found in my Armpit One Midsummer's Day" . Good work.

See this is what I'm talking about.
Spare me poems about life's complexity or the loss of God. Give me V8 verse!
