A History of Violence sells itself as shocking- if believe what you read on the Internet it is supposed to be ultraviolent and Tarrantinoesque. The story is that this bloke who lives the perfect American life in a small town shoots a couple of naughty robbers who are trying to rob his diner. He becomes a local hero and some mobsters come after him and accuse him of being a bad guy. He says he isn't and that they are mistaked, and then kills them all, and then admits he is, and then kills some more people, and then admits he is, after having rough sex with his wife.

when I was in my last year at school they built the first escalator on the Isle of wight- they took younger kids on a trip to visit it. It's no wonder I am easily impressed.
