I don't want to be happy; I want to be fulfilled. I dated a girl the felt that pain should be avoided at all cost. She thought that all actions should be harmless and all following consequences should be positive and make her happy. Nothing and no one should come of harm in this process and this will make a perfect world. I asked her how this would be done. How would you avoid killing a creature or plant? How would you make a decision that no one would disagree with? How was her vision of utopia going to occur when implemented? She explained everyone should strive to be happy and nice and should also be happy with what life has given them.
I chuckled and shook my head.
Growing up I learned an important message. I did not learn you should be happy with what life or God has given you. You should understand that the world is a place of horrors and beauty self contained together in one. Out of all destruction rises an equally beautiful creation. The pain is necessary; it doesn't have to make you happy. Just know that without it there wouldn't be happiness. My ex-girlfriend could not understand how I could understand the ugliness of life. She didn't understand why I did not fight to end all suffering.
My earliest memory is of my mother being placed through a wall. Her blood ran down the side of her face and painted the drywall a brownish color. My mother dropped to the floor and picked up the knife that had fallen from her hands during the turmoil. She ran toward my father, the blade raised high in the air. I could barely stand from young age, but was held up by the two masses pressing against each side of me, my head cushioned by my parents' stomachs. They were fighting again.
A couple weeks later I fell in my pool, chasing after a frog. Four minutes later my older brother pulled me out. My father, a big man, came running from the shower to give me mouth to mouth resuscitation. The doctor reported to my parents it was likely I was to suffer from brain deterioration and mental retardation. I was nearly three years old; today I am in college and getting A's in Calculus 3.
My parents divorced and prospered on there own. They raised me along with my five siblings and did a rather decent job at it. The practices may not of been orthodox nor of the ordinary. The money may not have flowed, the abuse successive and I may be one sibling short today. None the less the life I received has turned me into what I consider to be a very decent person. Family values are number one to me, I have deep respect for civil servants and I am in school to be a high school teacher. I am responsible enough to hold a good job and support myself on my own since I was seventeen.
A girl I know is jobless, her man is jobless and their child will live with this pain. I girl who thinks happiness should be at every bend is placing a child in this position. A girl who barely graduated high school and has no plans to continue her education believes it is time to force feed a child tofu, hippie nonsense and the ideal that the world is an evil place that should be eradicated in place of nature and "happiness".
I find nature and the world eternally beautiful; when a cheetah chases down a gazelle, a blood covered hyena feasting on a dead carcass or bear fishing in a river. I hope a dingo takes her baby.

Nope, the person in the pic is the girl I was dated for 4 or 5 years who felt every moment in life should be happy. And yes the glasses do make her cute... why else did I date her for so long.

Also I think you failed to get what I am saying. I am saying that you should not build a life based on single repeating pleasures. Like the Dennis Leary; happiness is in the orgasm, the butt and the cookie... you fuck, roll over and smoke the butt, eat the cookie and go to bed.
I am saying try building a life on fulfillment and you may receive happiness in turn.

I can't remember if it was wifeswap or spouse something, but I used to watch that show, I fucking loved how they always put one rich mom with a poor family and vise versa.
