We gotta keep this thing moving, so I'm taking over. Somebody has to, right? And I'm thinking that the winner gets their name in the title of the competition.
And so, "Xcuses' D-Prime Madness II" : Fall 2005, continues.

KEEP IN MIND THAT THE DEADLINE WAS Friday, Oct 7th @ 9pm. If your post came in after that or not at all, then it was a forfeit.
Preliminary Results...
(A) Winner: Ajanssen (Park Hero). Ajanssen won by a large margin here, with a 1.95 to ArtificialInsanity's 0.5.
(B) Winner: Axolotl (The Brink Of Destruction). Interesting_Pseudonym had a very good post (1.91), but with a submission that was nearly 2 hours late, she had to forfeit. Either way, she was no match for Axolotl's epic civil war saga (2). This will definitely be a consideration for the Roark Award.
(C) Winner: Joedaddy (Denial of Self). Despite hating the title, Joedaddy came in with a gripping and relevant story (1.55), that beat a coleslaw_murphy story (1.00) that was good but not good enough.
(D) Winner: MadjesterVince (Pulling The Plug). MadjesterVince won by a forfeit with a respectable 1.00. CaptainThorns must've forgotten about his entry, seeing as he dropped 4 other posts in the window up until the deadline.
(E) Winner: Merlina (Afternoon Delight). Merlina edged out Adereterial 1.89 to 1.73 for the preliminary victory. So far Adereterial's piece may end up receiving the Bocephus award.
(F) Winner: Dreg (The Long Way Home). Kracka's entry would have been enough to get it done, but he submitted it a day late, and so had to forfeit. Dreg's entry was very good in its own right, garnering a 1.8 (he had just enough reviews for it to count).
(G) Winner: Brdn_Nkd (Virtue). Brdn_Nkd's 1.39 was good enough to beat a_reader's controversial post that nobody loved and some hated (-0.75).
(H) Winner: Ryufu (I'm Next). Another close match had RyuFu (1.56) tasting victory over Malachewaii (1.45). RyuFu's actual tally was a 1.65 depending on how you want to count his opponents re-posted 0's, but it matters nonetheless.

You have just over six days to make a post, with your title, that corresponds with your title.
DEADLINE: Sunday, Oct. 23rd at midnight.
At approximately 5pm on Monday (24th), one day after the deadline, all the posts will be recorded and the official winner of each match-up will be declared. In the same post, official Round Three match-ups and titles will be announced. This is the second round, and the 8 winners from this round go on to face each other in Round Three, according to the bracket below.

DUDE, don't be a baby. Just compile the results and continue to Round 3. It took you, what?, 3 weeks to even show up again?
I already said that you could take over when you came back.
IF you nullify this Round Two,
1) People will be pissed, and may not play anymore, &
2) I'll continue to Round 3 based on these results, regardless of what you do (which will confuse people).

There's at least 3 fatal flaws in this contest.

Badass I evened that out myself. I would prefer it stricken as it was a mistake but if you remove that one then the opponents needs be removed too. Soooo.... Don't do shit cause I already took care of it.

This whole nullifying ratings thing is getting out of hand.
I worked on this contest with DPrime from the beggining and I think this has gotten away from the true reasoning behind it.
There are really 2 instances where are rating can be disregarded
#1 - it is from your opponant.
#2 - it is from a clear and apparent alter in his retaliatory state.
That's it, no removing them for mistakes or accidents or because we all want to stroke one another.
Lets not make this into something too gay, shall we.

I figured that's what happened. Now, I don't know if D-Prime emailed other people or not (anyone?). I wasn't in the competition so I can't say, but if people want me to email them for this competition (in later rounds) then I can do that (but I'll need addresses).
And if you have the address of some of the other contestants in this round, throw them an email and let them know that it's back on. Or I'll just drop a link on the uberboard as a reminder.

Actually, "Halving" wasn't a typo. I changed it to that on purpose, for my own selfish reasons. [D-Prime had changed "Trailer Park Hero" to simply "Park Hero" for the prelim. rounds.]

Where the hell has d-prime been? I figure somebody had to continue this, at least for the sake of those who've already participated. And at least until D-Prime gets back, or the end of this competition.
All I did was compile the results and put them in the structure that he already created. The only other thing was that I used some titles from the suggestions that you all offered.
