Ugh! What is the world coming to?! I am so disgusted with people. It just irks me to see certain errors in writing that are becoming very commonplace (or have always been, but perhaps it is just aggravating me more than usual these days). What kind of world is this where people can write whatever they want with nonchalance and an indifference to whether or not what they write comes out correctly?! I cringe at the thought of the horrible existence my unborn offsprings will have to endure till possibly the very end of time itself. We as a society cannot and must not tolerate these shocking and atrocious behaviors. They are inexcusable and unforgivable.
In an effort to combat this deterioration in our society and to protect the sanity of my children not yet born; and in general, to make this world a better place to live in for all, I have decided to take the time to point out a few very key pieces of knowledge in today's world:
1. a. your = something "you" possess
b. you're = a contraction for "you are"
2. a. their = something "they" possess
b. they're = a contraction for "they are"
c. there = a pronoun that refers to a location other than "here"
3. a. its = something "it" possesses
b. it's = a contraction for "it is"
4. "A lot" is two words, not one. It is *not* written like this: "alot"
Okay, I think I feel a little better now that I've done my part. And now, pass this information on to whomever might need it, and in this way you will also be doing your part. Consider it your good deed for the day. And remember kids ... friends don't let friends make simple grammar and spelling mistakes that might adversely reflect on their intelligence.
