Without a good scanner at my disposal I used a digital camera to capture this portrait. Not as good as a scan, but not half bad. I was happily surprised to learn I could save my work once the original was out of my hands. I know it's not an exciting subject, but it's what I do... yadda yadda.

I took art classes for fun but, except for B&W photography, I positively SUCKED at everything I tried to do!

Thanks Wright, what electrictooth said a few comments below is exactly why it looks to some as bad perspective, it's the crooked smile she has, which is one of the reasons I liked the picture. I hate stupid people.
(I have been drawing since I can remember, and whenever I start feeling like I need some inspiration or rather, a reason to get off my lazy ass and draw something, I'll take a class for shits and giggles).

I like to sketch in my spare time... but I'm no where near this good. No where near. I wish I could draw faces with that much realism. Jesus. Did you take classes or go to school or does drawing this well just come naturally?
And I think it looks perfect the way it is. I simply don't see the messed up perspective others are talking about. It just looks like a real person.

You really are extremely talented - and multitalented at that. Not to mention you seem to have a really good head on your shoulders.
Believe me, I'm not kissing ass when I say it's good to have people like you around here. It makes it all the more interesting.
Also, a comment on some of the ugly and ill-informed things people are saying about this 'drauring'...
I think what they seem to be focusing on is the way that the woman's sort of idiosyncratic crooked smile is causing one side of her face to pooch out more than the other. With the lighting, it gives the illusion that the face is somehow crooked, but I think few of them realize that a close observation of the source photo would reveal the same anomaly. At least that's my take on it.
Where did you go to school? Do you mainly do portraits, or have you ventured into other things as well? Do you ever paint?
Just curious.

This is way better than I (or probably anyone else on Uber) can draw, but something is a little off about the chick in this pic.
It's almost as if there are some flat surfaces on her face which shouldn't be there. I don't care how ugly a person is, no one has flat spots on their face.
But what the hell would I know.

Wow... all the facial features are phenomenal! The only small criticism I have is that the face is on a slight angle, while the eyes seem to be straight ahead. But maybe my eyes are playing up on me.
Either way, that looks awesome!

I think the drawing is very good. Choosing a realistic subject is way better than choosing a perfect subject. The coy little almost smirk on her face confused me. The ear is really good. Congratulations. Keep up the kick ass drawing.

Anyway, cool pic! I think what some others were saying (not-so-tactfully) is that the right side of the woman's mouth in that picture looks a little odd, like the perspective was just a bit... off. It's not some grand, sweeping point about how nobody on here appreciates natural beauty or a woman with flaws, that part of the picture simply looks poorly drawn.
