Cindy Sheehan. When will she go away?

It's bad enough that the New York Times and the San Francisco Chronicle and other leftist rags give this sad, deluded woman endless print coverage. Where are the front page stories about proud parents who lost sons and daughters in Iraq?

Its worse that she is using the memory of a son who died in Iraq while serving his country by choice. Casey Sheehan RE-ENLISTED in the army in 2004. He knew what he was getting into. He was not pressured. He was not forced. He was not drafted. He VOLUNTEERED to go on the mission in which he was killed in action. President Bush met with Cindy Sheehan afterward and expressed his condolences, but she seems to believe the President should follow the orders of a woman who whores her dead son for attention and against all logic (and the majority opinion of our elected leaders) demands we pull out of Iraq now.

The latest Sheehan fallout?

Now it looks like the city of Berkeley, California, has cancelled their Veteran's Day event because Cindy and other anti-war activists wanted to speak there.

Edwin Harper, adjutant of the local chapter of Disabled American Veterans summed things up best by saying, "They have the other 364 days and 23 hours to make their political point."

And now another look the demented left with a quick detour into ACLU Bullshit...

Taken from their news page -

------------
Border Vigilante Arrested for Illegally Detaining Immigrant

ACLU says Incident Confirms its Suspicions about Minutemen

HACHITA, NM - Today the American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico expressed concern over reports that a member of the Minuteman vigilante group illegally detained two migrants near the Mexican border last week.
-------------

Funny how the only use of the word illegal is in describing the American trying to stop yet one more illegal alien from sneaking into the country. Jesus.

Now, back to Cindy.

Cindy quotes for your consideration:

"I was raised in a country by a public school system that taught us that America was good, that America was just. America has been killing people... since we first stepped on this continent; we have been responsible for death and destruction. I passed on that bulls**t to my son, and my son enlisted. I'm going all over the country telling moms this country is not worth dying for."

"You get that evil maniac out here, 'cause a Gold Star Mother, somebody whose blood is on his hands, has some questions for him."

"The biggest terrorist is George W. Bush."

"If he thinks that it's so important for Iraq to have a U.S.-imposed sense of freedom and democracy, then he needs to sign up his two little party-animal girls. They need to go to this war."

"Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a PNAC [Project for the New American Century] Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full well that my son, my family, this nation, and this world were betrayed by George [W.] Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNAC agenda after 9/11."

And finally...

"... In their secret hiding places, while celebrating newly won fortunes with their fellow brass, these men must surely congratulate themselves with orgies of carnal pleasure as they mock the dwindling multitudes who are yet so blind as to mistake them for God's devoted servants."

Orgies of carnal pleasure?

Somebody call Atticus Finch. We got another mad dog whut need's shootin'.

My law education being as limited as it is (*snicker*) explain to me how it is illegal for a citizen to detain the perpetrator of a crime. (I know, this is oversimplified, but you get the point)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Having a little more experience in these matters, I'm going to have to assume that:

#1 The Minuteman involved was probably a local "tough-guy", wanna be policeman who was
trying to usurp the power of the local law enforcement personel rather than complement it.

#2 That same Minuteman, more than likely, went 'over-the-top' in his handling of the matter
either by injuring the "Mex", or by violating one of many statutes covered by International
law.

I'm quite sure either both, or a combinantion, of these factors is why the Minuteman is
being held accountable.
***
Let the professional law enforcement agencys handle the situation because that's what
they are paid for and, don't try and 'punk' them out because YOU WILL always LOSE.

On the topic of Sheehan, her freedom to be an annoying, opprotunistic loudmouth is the sort of thing you patriot types are supposed to be in support of. It's the American way, right? It's the same freedom that lets the KKK march in black neighborhoods without fear of being attacked. So quit your fucking whining, you fascist.

As for your immigrant complaint, two wrongs don't make a right. Had the man merely point a gun at them and told them to turn around, perhaps your complain would be justified. But the man HELD THEM CAPTIVE FOR SEVERAL DAYS. Just as you can't lock up a burgler in your basement and starve him, we can't lock up illegal immigrants. And on the topic of immigrants, what's your fucking problem? Are you native american? I doubt it. Shut the fuck up.

I have a more pressing question: When will everyone shut the fuck up about her?

It's her RIGHT to say what she thinks, whether you agree or not. She is an American, and she has the freedom to laude her country or slam it as much as she wants.

This is old.

"Do they have WiFi in the monastary?

What truth is there in Cindy using her son in a way he would object to, as his life choices clearly show?"

-----------------------------

With all due respect, Jack, I think she might know her own son and the reasons for his actions a little better than you, dude. She said herself she had a lot to do with fashioning his ideals about what was right and wrong, and what 'doing your duty' meant. The thing about it is, what he would have thought about it makes no difference...

Dead men tell no tales.

Dead men have no opinions.

...and yes, the monestary does have WiFi. But only for childporn.

Seriously though...when you stop looking for reasons to hate people, you begin to better understand them and where they're coming from. This lady is coming from a place of deep hurt and a bitter feeling that she is at least partially responsible for what's happened to her son. And I think that, no matter how emotional and misguided some of the specific things she says may be, she's coming from a place that's genuine - and that, to me, is worth more than 1000 flowery, prepared speeches by bullshit, puppet politicians.

First, Casey Sheehan didn't know that Bush lied to the American peopel when he re-enlisted. he bought the WMD story just like everyone else. As you know, that story is now crumbling around Bush (with the forthcoming indictments of Libby and Rove).

Secondly, come up with your own thoughts. Don't just regurgitate what o'Reilly says. Also, you might want to do your own research to make sure it's accurate. Here's the link to Jack's ripoff of O'Reilly. Read for yourself:

Jack, Jack... disagree with you as I may on certain issues, I can't help but admire your formidable fighting spirit.

Plus, I have to agree with you. Though I stand with the liberals on many topics, I'm sick to death of Sheehan. Sure, Bush is a moron and most of his senior advisors are either insane war mongers or OPEC's panty-wearing poodles, but what is her group doing? Standing around in circles holding hands and singing kumbayah? Let's get some suggestions going, people. You want an exit strategy? Propose one! Holding signs and saying "well, we never should have gotten into the war in the first place," is not going to do us a damn bit of good right now.

Add on to that the fact that they've been using the names of dead soldiers who did not know about or support their agenda. A father had to come out some time ago to remove his son's "cross" from one of their demonstrations. I'd be a damned hypocrite if I didn't call that disrespecting the dead. If I died in 9/11, my name should not be used to fuel a war I would not approve of. On the same token, if a soldier died to defend his country and agenda, his or her name should not be used to deride that agenda.

Sheehan should be asking herself one thing right now; what does she want to accomplish? If she wanted to prove a point, that Bush would not come out to see her, that's done. She and her group should lift their little vigil and stop annoying the locals. If she wants to get the troops home, perhaps she should do her research and come up with a valid exit strategy.

Jack, insofar as you illustrate the very reason that screaming emotionally about something about which you feel strongly is not always the best way, I'm with you.

All it takes is a voice couched in conviction, compassion, and empathy to hammer home the truth if indeed it's on your side. The truth, we often want to believe, is self-evident; but that's just not always the case.

People have their own background, their own upbringing... The world is so loud with itself, and everyone becomes suspect to having their own hidden agenda.

If I could sum it all up in one sentence, it would be this:

We're missing the forest for the trees.

Beyond all the cynicism inherent in BOTH sides of the argument there is the simple truth of the matter, and a little quiet meditation on it should make that truth clear to you.

Ok, here's a justification: Bush sent her son to war on a lie.

What he thought he was fighting for... nope! sorry. lies. Couldn't find any wmd! haha! oopsey! Here, halliburton, have this no-bid government contract to "rebuild" Iraq. And when we say "Iraq" we mean "oil pipelines"

--

You mean Bush AND all the Democrats and Republicans who signed off on that action, based on info that America and many other nations believed was true?

We didn't see any extended debates against going to Iraq when it was first proposed
---------------------

This is a shitty, shitty defense, Jack.

Just because a bunch of political panderers play a game to maximize their airs of 'patriotism' in front of C-SPAN cameras doesn't mean a goddamned thing.

The way you and other talking heads latch onto Cindy Sheehan as if she were a spokesperson for the DNC is disgusting. I agree with whomever labelled you "Ann Coulter."

Cindy probably had a psychological break when her son died. She is dishonoring her sons memory with her actions, and now dishonering the veterans in Berkley because it might be "Pro-War" to have Veterans Day? WTF is with that!

I also remember that EVERYONE was for the war on Iraq in the begining, Democrats, Republicans, and the like. Why wasnt there any questioning then? Also, the CIA had information on WBDs in Iraq, so people went by that. You would do the same. Bush isnt evil, he was uninformed, as was the rest of the world.

Back before the war, there were members of Saddam's inner circle who defected to the US adn spilled lots of information about biological and chemical weapons manufacturing in Iraq. They weould track the movements of UN weapons inspectors, and move the day before they got somewhere. Also, Saddam had used chemical weapons before, so precident is there. I believe that early in the war they found some mobile chemical labs, quite a few of them. I remember the anti-war front saying they could have been used for making fertilizer! HA! MOBILE labs for that? At 1 mil USD apiece? Hell no! They are mobile because THEY CAN HIDE EASY! They are also ideal for dismantilng chemical weapons! Who would have thought that?
---------------------------------

Pull your head out of your ass. There WAS questioning! It just didn't go very far cause Bush was busy lying about the WMD's. This whole "Bush was uninformed" line is the biggest crock of shit I've ever heard. There are MOUNTAINS of evidence that support the fact that Bush asked the US and British intelligence to find a reason to go to war. Anything at all.

As for the mobile chemical labs? Do a google search, dipshit. The whole thing was debunked as bullshit. They were blurry satellite images! They saw some suspicious trucks and called them mobile chemical labs. Ugh.

+2 for the pic, good shirt.

You know Jack, for someone who is seemingly intelligent, you are surprisingly ignorant.

This woman was alive during the Vietnam era, when many people took to the streets to protest against their government's involvement in a pointless, stupid war. Protesting, to us, seems like a thing of the past. I know many people my age who are vehemently against this war, but you know what they do? They sit on their fucking computer and make a post on some irrelevant website. Then they cry when they get a -2.

--

I don't object to her speaking out.

I object to her whoring her dead son when HE enlisted and volunteered for risky missions. If he shared her views, he would have stayed home.

I did not object to those who protested the Vietnam war.

I did object to those who planned to blow shit up and hurt people during those protests. Of course, the Weathermen only fucked themselves...

This is not a left or right issue. This is an issue of doing the right thing, which is, in fact, exercising our right to free speech that many, many people have fought and died for.

Go ahead, wrap up that -2 and send it off to all of the newspapers who report on Cindy Sheehan. They'll do the exact same thing you can do with it - absolutely nothing.

So the sanctions didn't work. That's why you try something else. The lesson to be taken is not "fuck sanctions, we just should go to war immediately." Rather, we should revise how sanctions are imposed on countries with oppresive dictators. And as for the Food for Oil scandal... how does 3 U.N. members become the entire UN?! And the ugly semantic of polling rears it's ugly head. The way the question is worded GREATLY affects the results. THat's why you can get results in the some poll that say 71% don't think the US does enough to prevent immigrants, but those same people say they really don't care what the gov't does concerning them. It's the whole "well, if you HAD to have an opinion, what would it be?" scenario.

All he did was validate her claims that he is a pussy by hiding from her and further add fuel to the fire of anti-war dissent.
