A huge black void existed, an abyss of emptiness. An open vacuum where nothing existed. Yet, how do you know there is nothing when nothing is all that you have ever known?
He knows.
He knows that he must create, to invent. He must fabricate in order to fill this gaping void, to bring purpose to this empty space.
He must establish his will. Create wonders both terrible and splendid that will become testaments to his glory.
Carefully, deliberately, he chose the first of an infinitesimal quantity of pieces he will use to shape this nothingness.
A flash of red.
Now let it be known that it was he and he alone that performed the impossible; To create something out of nothing. That because of him, "nothing" now has meaning.
He worked, with grand sweeps of his hands he spawned his beautiful creations. His dexterous fingers reached down to fine-tune the loosely fitting pieces. The graceful movements resembled that of a conductor leading his symphony, only this was a symphony of sights. He moved eloquently and without pause, like he knew all along what he had wanted to accomplish.
The feverish pace of the construction stopped just as suddenly as it had begun. He stepped back to admire the completed work. His satisfied expression suddenly turned pensive. His eyebrows furrowed and he frowned; Something was missing.
Different variables ran through his mind at a lightning pace. Perhaps he should have slowed down his pace? Was it a color? A shape? So many possibilities. He could feel his body tighten as he pondered this issue, the tendrils of frustration begin to wrap around him. No, he forced his body to relax and cleared his mind. To find out what the missing piece is, he must be patient and methodical.
The different combinations came and went. Then, it finally hit him: The missing piece. He smiled and shook his head at the obviousness of the component.
It was all over with a deft flick of the wrist.
It stood on two legs, with two arms attached to the side of its torso, and a head that rested on top.
He opened his mouth and exhaled, giving the lifeless mannequin a breath of divine air. The body shook momentarily, then it opened its eyes. What good is this divine conception, the evidence of his glory and powers, without a witness? Without someone that will praise and fear him solely because he had conceived his existence and could at anytime repeal it?
Satisfied, he withdrew and observed approvingly, he has done what he has set out to do. The genisis is complete.
Some distance away, two figures stood in the shadows.
"Look at him," one marveled. "I've never seen anyone look so focused."
The other looked and replied, "I told you it was a good idea."
