Top 20 Transformers pre Transformers the Movie
1 - Omega Supreme Autobot- none had his raw power, aggression, and ability to fly to Cybertron. He could hammer every other transformer. And that episode where he revealed that along his stupid big guy speaking was an act, and actually he had a perfectly normal voice - he was just taking the piss coz he was upset by the constructicons in the past. Now *that's* holding a grudge.
2 - Menasor Decepticon - for raw power and skill, Menasor was particularly hard to best. Generally he had to be ganged up on, or he had to fight amongst himself before he could be stopped. Admittedly his stupid helmet made him look a bit crap - and the actual figure looked nowt like the cartoon - but still, he had a giant sword, and he used it to smash. Respect.
3 - Superion Autobot- the Autobot tasked to take on the entire Decepticon air force singlehandedly. He could fly, thwart Menasor, and stamp on Megatron. He looked damn cool too. I mean planes turning into a giant robot. Does not get much better.
4 - Devastator Decepticon - What a legend. Watch him tear apart whole forces singlehandedly. Only his lack of speed and firepower makes him not top 3. Also, he occasionally suffered from a gammy leg. He drop kicked one of the Dinobots as well.
5 - Bruticus - Decepticon - made of military vehicles - he took on the entire Decepticon army - and much of the Autobots as well. He once fired Shockwave out of the guns on his back. Like a rocket. Quite amusing to watch.
6 - Defensor Autobot- a giant robot- but a shit one. He was made up of an ambulance, a fire engine and similar pussy vehicles. He had a pacifist arm. That's how shit he was. His arm went on strike once and wouldn't join in, leaving us with a one armed ginat pussy robot.
7 - Optimus Prime Autobot - Legend.
8 - Megatron Decepticon- immensely powerful - just a bit stupid. Though he was fairly loyal to his men actually - lay off the guy.
9 - Jetfire Autobot - A scientist who became a great fighter. Damn he looked cool too. In fact - amazingly so.
10 - Skylynx Autobot- stupid accent - but he had a great deal of power, and could fly into space. With his wings. Obviously.
11 - Grimlock - Autobot - took on the original Autobots and ruled pretty hard there.
12- Ultramagnus Autobot- Optimus Prime, only with giant big shoulders. And a lack of Prime's basic durability. Canny enough.
13 - Soundwave Decepticon - More of a thinker than a fighter - but he coulda been a contender if he'd been inclined, but he usually just stood at the back and watched others. A voyeur. He could read minds as well.
14 - Shockwave Decepticon - similar name, but other htan his giant breast, Shockwave was an immensely powerful Decepticon who nailed many an Autobot - with his gun. Not with his metalicock.
15 - Starscream Decepticon- fast, agile, powerful null ray. Shame he was such a mercenary. But he was Sky Commander - and the title commands your respect.
16- Blitzwing Decepticon- a triple changer who changes into a superquick plane, a tank and a decent warrior. Not a bad combination.
17 - Slag Autobot - Amazing flamethrower power - shame he was thick.
18 - Springer Autobot - Helicopter, Tank, Warrior with a sword. Not bad.
19 - Blaster Autobot, he had skills, but just wasn't black enough.
20 - Skywarp- Decepticon - he can fly nearly as quickly as Starscream, but he can also teleport, Nightcrawler Stylee. If he were a bit smarter, he'd be cool

GOBOTS were MUCH better than the stinking 'Formers.
My Gobots used to be the crap out of those pathetic Gobot wannabes.

+2 because finally someone gave Omega Supreme the due he justly deserves. He was both a space shuttle and a train!
So was Astro Train - which I noted - but he never stamped on Blitzwing and ruined him. For me, Omega Supreme (as well as sounding like a variety of soup) was the coolest and toughest.

Jazz on the other hand was played by the guy who played the janitor in The Shining- and he was properly black.

I like the concept, but the list is just shit. Everyone knows optimus prime is the best and coolest transformer there is. No mention of ironhide, or bumblebee, or wheeljack.... but you still managed to get two of the dinobots in there. how about the ever elusive mirage?
Optimus Prime is cool - but could he take Devastator? The answer is no.
Ironhide? Special powers - grumpiness
Wheeljack - nailed in the movie without even a death scene. Furthermore, did he actually nail anyone?
Bumblebee? the worst spy in history - always discovered by Ravage - inevitable chase scene, bumblebee shines his headlights. You can't tell me that Bumblebee is gonna stand up to anyone, in fact, in a list of worst transformers -Bumblebee is there with fucking Wheelie. Bumblebee = UTTER WANK.

I freely admit, too much time spent watching transformers. But the scene where Optimus Prime is giving his precious energy to one of the female autobots, complete with much groaning *still* makes me laugh. Transformers is cool. Simple as.

Berty - if I'd got the piccies and if you were an avid transformers fan, it may have struck more of a chord. I did issue a warning. And I should have got pictures - but i'm at work and sadly i don't *quite* have the time to do the video capturing i need to do to do this justice.
I've got a minute by minute review of transformers the movie somewhere - but I suspect that you wouldn't enjoy that either.
Anyhow - needed a bit of silliness away from being serious.
