I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, and I surte hope this isn't something he told me in confidence, but basically he thinks the Piper series is something he could turn into an actual commercial venture (book, colloquially) and after seeing his work plagiarized multiple times, he's suddenly wary of having something he hopes to make him money freely available on an obscure internet website for anyone to just take.
