The title says it all. I want to find some new music. Tell me your favorite songs or artists. Give me songs for good days or bad days. I don't care. I need to expand my tastes a little so come on. What have you got?

Saian Sup Crew: French hip hop, cant understand a word but its still good and the SPEED they rap at is ubeleivable soimetimes.

If you want to try some new stuff, look into Acid Jazz or ambient stuff.
I'd recommend
St. Germain (Tourist is a good cd to start with)
Zero 7 (awesome chill music)
Lali Puna (Faking the books is great)
Royksopp (Cd: Melody A.M.)
and
Frou Frou (much more poppy but different from mainstream stuff)

Everyone loves parading their music taste and I am no different.
A few of my favourite bands ever:
Million Dead
http://www.milliondead.com
They broke up this year, I cried. Fiery, passionate punk. I recommend the songs 'Breaking the Back', 'Smiling at Strangers on Trains', 'After the Rush Hour' and 'Engine Driver'.
Low
http://www.chairkickers.com
Slow, beautiful, haunting songs. They made me stop dead the first time I heard them. You can even listen to their songs on a little player thing at the top of their site. I'd go for '(That's How You Sing) Amazing Grace', 'Over the Ocean' and 'Monkey'.
65daysofstatic
http://www.65daysofstatic.com
Fuzzy, broken guitars over soaring keys and pounding drum loops. Saw them live only a few weeks ago, they just get better and better. You can stream their songs from the site above, too. Go for 'Await Rescue', 'Retreat! Retreat!' or 'Climbing on Roofs (desperate edit)'.

Mazzy Star's cd's "So Tonight That I Might See" and "Among My Swan" for gloomy beauty.
Tori Amos' "Under The Pink" and "Boys For Pele" and "From The Choirgirl Hotel" are good for all moods, but not for dancing.
Babes In Toyland's "Fontanelle" and "Nemesisters" and "Natural Babe Killers" are good for when you're feeling down.
Lords of Acid "Voodoo-U" great for dancing and tripping, and for having dirty sex.
Sneaker Pimps, everything, great music for all moods.

Despite the GIANT PICTURE
Jeff Buckley - amazing lyricist, tragically died young. - Grace is particularly good
Nick Drake - as above. - But gentler. - lovely albums
Nick Harper - as above, but not dead www.nickharper.com - saw him on Saturday night - and he rocked.
The Pixies - saw them at the Leeds festival - lots of fun, weird and definitely genre shifting.
The Zutons -cheery stuff from Liverpool.
The Arctic Monkeys - clever lyrics.
Gang of Four - old school punk - damn good - and a new album just released
The Eels - love Mark Everett's stuff
Gomez - Southport - some amazing stuff -try Abandoned Shopping Trolley
Beck - all his stuff is good
Group X - amusing
Enough stuff for now - i'll scour my iTunes at some point if you're still stuck.

Kings of Leon

Interpol
The Bravery

Here's a freeform radio station in New Jersey. You can stream everybody's show easy and for free. Sometime you can even select the particular songs and listen to them. I recommend IRWIN, CHARLIE, and LIZ BERG for eclectic (rock) stuff. IRENE TRUDEL, and SHRUNKEN PLANET is good for mellow/singer songwriter stuff. ANTIQUE PHONOGRAPH, and SINNER'S CROSSROADS for old timey. plus all sorts. This is not Clear Channel bullshit.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Those douchebags are from my hometown, and they and their music are the epitome of, well, douchebaggery. But I guess they're awesome if you're into funk-jam-punk-polka-folk-core-ska-rock-whatever-else-happens-to-be-popular-at-any-given-moment music.
