Take a look at the JPEG I've inserted below. Read the instructions. Let's see if you can figure these out. It took me a while, but I finally got it. The hardest one is the first one (in my opinion). Don't cheapen it by trying to find answers in the internet. You may succeed and it takes the fun out of it. If you are truly bored at work, this is ideal to help you kill the time. GOOD LUCK!

yeah yeah yeah. my memory is becoming clearer.
the year was 1982 or 83. I was 3 or 4.
my parents bought this child's encyclopedia set, "childcraft" or some such thing. volume 13 was the one on math, calle d'mathemagic' pink cover, funny drawrings.
I loved that one, it was my favorite until I was 5 or 6

5 is the only number that can be in the middle.
Around the outside clockwise beginning at the top left (although it could be rearranged):

The other one is fucking annoying. Plus, I'm not even sure I did the 1st correctly. I added lines vertically and horizontally, and that's not exactly what the rules say.
