the team deployed at the far end of the beach, and isntantly began to nit-pick over the distribution of disregarded or dropped weapons strewn across the field. they wontonly trampled over corpses, friend and foe alike. they had been here before, they knew they had precious little time. they were the veterans of countless excursions such as this, which were spurred by the beginning of the conflict late in the fall of 2004.
the hills surrounding the drop zone kept it cold for the time being, but they knew soon the enemy would be upon them. they had to move quickly.
billy spotted a sniper rifle on the top of the hill to the left. without missing a beat he dashed for it, sensing that his teammate tom had his eye on the prize as well. they briefly scuffled over the weapon, forgetting, if only for a second, the urgency and focus needed to insure the sucess of the mission. that second, of course, did not go unheeded by the enemy. the opposing sniper waited patiently across the island, errantly training his scope at head level of the two soldiers. waiting for the victor of the scuffle.
luckily for billy, tom wanted the rifle just a bit more then he did, he backed down and let tom have the rifle, his thoughts drifting toward the jeep still waiting for a gunner and driver.
the enemy sniper rewarded billys selflessness with a gorgeous painting of toms brains on his visor.
5..4..3..2..1 respawn.
