What the hell's going on with South Park these days? It used to be brilliant, hilarious and controversial, but its getting progressively lamer.
This season - I don't have sky/cable so I downloaded them and they were just plain shit.
I didn't think that they could possibly make worse episode than the scientology one (Trapped in the Closet), being just made up of cheap religion-bashing and lame, stale jokes. Don't get me wrong, I don't think much of scientology, and have never met an advocate of it, but they way it was presented was boring and reeked of self-importance. But the last one, 'Free Willzyx' when they tried to send that shitty whale into space topped the scientology episode in anal-expulsion magnitude. Unfunny and dull.
It used to rock- like the Paris Hilton episode, and infact anything from about season 3-7, but its going downhill.
It seems to me that South Park has always had an agenda of pointing out what's wrong with society, which pissed me off, but at least it was fucking hilarious!
Has anyone else noticed this? I can't be the only one.
Im sticking with Family Guy.

Iago, South Park mocks celebrity since the beginning. In fact, every single episode has aleast one celebrity bashing joke somewhere.
Sorry for my quebec lateness (?) but...they made a Family Guy movie?!?! Is it in theater? Or only on INternet? (That is probably a very stupid question to ask...*prepares for flames*)

South park is probably the best show on television right now. The Simpsons, while still good, is getting stale. Family Guy always leaves you feeling empty at the end. American Dad is pretty good, but South Park still puts out quality shit.

What absolute balls.
Your right in that it's a socio-political commentary and satire, but what pisses me off is that it's so fucking condescending and patronising. I don't need an 8 yo giving me some soliloquy on how you shouldn't judge other people for whatever reason he learned that particular week. The best episodes were in seasons 4-7. But now instead of being genuinely creative, it seems that they've just bought a celeb mag that particular week and thought of ways to mock them. Fair play, but its just not as funny.
But hey, maybe that's the only way Americans can learn socio-political issues, with a brightly-coloured cartoon with lots of swearing and farting.

Family Guy rules!

Family Guy has gotten forced and redundant. The formula, with all the pseudo-random flashbacks, has run its course. Family Guy has gone downhill in a lot of ways. It just didn't have the staying power, in my opinion.
I've always preferred Futurama over Family Guy. South Park is one of the only shows that consistently pushes the envelope and makes me audibly gasp: "HOW DID THEY GET AWAY WITH PUTTING THAT ON TV!?!?"
They are pushing the envelope on South Park, especially now. That show has aged like a fine wine. Family Guy, on the other hand, usually leaves me with a 'meh' feeling.

South Park used to be all fart jokes and vulgarity, but this season has been fucking brilliant. South Park is genius political and social commentary and satire, now more than ever.
This season is the best season of South Park. You're stupid if you think otherwise.

You do better. The scientology episode was fucking great and the whale episode wasn't the best one they've ever had but it was still funnier than 95% of the crap on TV these days.

If you meet a scientology adovcate (as I did yesterday, and yes I am very stressed apparently), then you'll understand that episode better... Free willzyx wasn't the best I'll admit, but the next one is the christmas special and last seasons was a whole world of awesome (Christmas Critter Special).
