It's such a waste...
I could sit here and ramble about the intricacies of current events. I could tell you how the breath you breathe will one day stop, and the life you assumed would last forever will, in fact, flitter out like an old memory.
But I'm not gonna.
I could espouse the virtues of the spirit and tell each and every one of you about the beautiful life with which, against all probable odds and human reason, you've been blessed. I could tell you how that life is somehow squandered every moment you fail to smile.
But I'm not gonna.
Through the varying pressures of syllable and word, I could remind you how each of us is set upon a sea of time without compass or paddle, and it is here we must drift until the hour our ship comes ashore. I could tell you how every moment is left as an imprint - sealed away in the grand cyclic movie of existence.
But I'm not gonna.
I could relate to you how it feels as a man to lose it all - to come to the end of your rope and feel the cold, welcoming trigger beneath your finger. I could take you all with me as I revisit some thicket of hopelessness, where light does not penetrate, and emerge on the other side a wiser man.
But I'm not gonna.
I could you how everytime you look at a starry night sky and don't audibly gasp or utter an under-the-breath "oh my fucking God", He actually gets pissed. I could remind you how this life is an illusion and paint for you an artificial picture of a universe wherein everything is One, or a faraway home you really never left.
But I'm not gonna.
I could probably lie and convince you that I'm not, in fact, a whiny emo pussy who sometimes feels the full voltage of emotion as if he were plugged directly into the source of it all...or tell you that I don't actually think that to be more of a virtue than a character flaw.
But I'm not gonna.
No, I really don't have much to say on this mid-December eve...in the year of our Lord 2005...on this planet we call earth...

The ads that I got for this post were for midwife schools. No word of bullshit. I never even knew that midwifery is an actual word.

After getting up at 5:00am, working for 8 hours, taking 4 hours of tests and then studying for 2 this evening, I'm glad that I saw this post. I've nothing to fret about, but it's still nice to have a little reminder that I'm lucky as fuck to be here and to have the opportunities that I do.
