It was finals week last week so I didn't really work on this. Then as the weekend came and it was time to relax I spent it at a LAN party playing; "Warcraft 3", "Incredible Creatures", "Rune" and working on the video game my friend and I are developing. Check out the model for our main character at the end of this installment.

---------------

Danny hated going to the quack; they always turned out to be a bunch of morons. He had seen so many different psychologists and a few psychiatrists that he began playing games with them and seeing how far he could play them along. The history of his family gave him the skills to pull the shades over them and make them believe what ever he said. 8 years of school and they'd have a thirteen year old tricking them.

Danny confided in his first psychologist when he was ten. She listened to everything he had to say and Danny had a lot to say. He bitched about his mother and said some unfavorable things about her. Danny started to get a little worried about the confidentiality factor when he noticed her bringing up stories of other patients and comparing him to them. No names were supplied, but it still felt like a breach of privacy to the ten year old. After there hour session the doctor asked Danny to wait and she had to speak with his mother. After twenty minutes of waiting, Danny and his mother were on their way home. The doctor had told his mother everything and she was now questioning Danny about his feelings towards her. A fight ensued ending with Danny getting out of the car at an intersection and pouting on the corner like a five year old; he was grounded for three months.

From then on Danny wouldn't trust any doctor and began mastering the game of confusion. He watched the sick people around him and enters the office emulating the twisted stuff he had seen just to play fun with the different doctors he would meet. He most enjoyed the lower level counselors he'd speak with as they are fresh from school and were not educated enough to catch his game early. He was allowed to go over board with the fun.

"Danny, come in and sit down. Your mother says you have something you would like to talk about." A young homely woman wearing a large blouse that still could not contain her belly waved her hand toward a chair in her office.

"Hu... hu..." Danny stuttered and then screamed out the word, "Hello!" His posture was poor and continually rubbed his left shoulder with his right hand. "Di... did my mother! tell you... any... anything?"

"No not much. Though she did tell me about your younger brother, Chris, its Christopher right?"

"Oh... well. When everything hap..." Danny paused and back tracked, "Yeah his names Chris." He then went quiet and stared at the wall admiring some of the paintings.

"No, no, continue; you were about to say something."

"Huh? Oh, sorry..." He continued rubbing his shoulder, but now used his left arm to each his ankle. "I don't know... it's just that when my brother. My brother, you know." He was uneasy about what words to use and kept everything simple, "Of God I don't know what is wrong with me!" He began crying a lot.

"Oh dear, what happened?" This woman had nothing to say. Danny knew this girl was fresh meat and raised his game a notch.

"Poor thing..."

"Poor thing?"

"He was so sweet, but not sweet enough... little bastard!" Danny punched his fist and went back to itching.

"I'm sorry? Are you talking about Christopher?"

"No you Cunt! Don't ever talk about my brother that way!" Danny almost jumped from his chair. He calmed down and curled up into a ball. "Dumb bitch" he muttered under his breathe.

"Oh... umm, who is a bastard Danny?"

"The fucking puppy. Jeez, aren't you listening? The little bastard nipped my hand when I tried to pet it."

"Danny you never said anything about a..."

"Yes I did bitch." he snapped back, "That little fucker certainly won't be biting anyone again!" He reached his arms out and strangled the air. "A little squeeze and then a snap of the wrist and thumb... bam!"

"Wait... when was this?" The woman was confused; she didn't understand what any of this had to do with Christopher or anything. "Why did you do this?"

Danny started smacking his ankles and shaking about, "Well you see, my older brother... he's like a... a drug dealer and I ummm." Danny rubbed at his nose, "I stole this stuff I found in his closet in his briefcase. I was out in the woods out back and this damn dog came up and..."

"Wait, wait, Danny I have to stop you right there. Can you please come with me, I have to talk with your mother a little to, ummm... get a little background on who you are. I don't think she explained you enough before bringing you in."

Danny was grounded for a month for that episode. His games continued for years and his mother just kept getting different doctors, hoping he would come around sooner or later. The only time Danny would even open up a little was during the group meetings with Christopher and his doctor.

----------------

The newest doctor was not appointed by his mother. This time it was the state that asked for a psychological evaluation of Danny. His mother and father had been in court since their divorce, when Danny was four, fighting over who would have custody of the children. As usual custody was given to the mother. Danny's father fought hard to get them back and it was reaching a climax after almost nine years.

Danny explained what had occurred in the past few years including his great desire to live with his father. He told the stories of; Richard and his drug abuse, Crystal and the sex, his mother and the verbal abuse and most importantly about Christopher. He finished it up with what occurred the week prior at the family group meeting with Christopher's doctor.

"My father was able to make it to this meeting. I was overjoyed about this until I figured out what my mother was going to do." Danny spoke with contempt when ever he brought up his mother. He couldn't understand that in her own strange way she was trying to protect him. "You see, my mother was very upset with me because I got in a fight the week prior and threatened to kill a kid with my pencil."

The doctor giggled a little, "With you pencil?" Danny could tell the doctor was just trying to get buddy-buddy with him so he would open up more.

"Yeah." Danny played along and giggles a little, "He said some rather harsh things about my brother Chris." He knew that this conversation could assist in getting him out from under his mother's roof. "Anyways, my mother and I fought about it and she blamed my father for my anger problems. This upset me a lot. Well I didn't expect her to bring it up again at the meeting."

"Your mother made a personal attack on your father about you at Christopher's group meeting?"

"Yes."

"hrmm..." He scribbled some notes in his folder.

"So a fight broke out between everyone there and the doctor had to call in some nurses to calm Chris down."

"How did your father react?"

"He was really upset about the personal attack. He was screaming at my mother because she blamed him for not being able to make it to a lot of the meetings."

"He doesn't make it to a lot of the meetings?"

"Well, he tries to visit Chris when ever he is in town, but he lives in Florida. He drives tractor trailer to come up here and a lot of the time he can't make it on time for meetings."

The meeting continued on for another half hour. Danny talked about everything, but forgot just one thing. He never brought up his father's abuse. Danny purposely never said a thing as he'd rather put up with that then living one more day with his mother.

try to keep exploring danny's desire for his father over his mother. to me it seems nonsensical, but im assuming thats the point.

maybe im just slow.

Keep on trucking, the only thing I see lacking is a direction. This installment kind of ended a little too open for me...

Nice character at the end btw.
