No, it's not me jumping out, good try. With so much time on my hands, I decided to do a little cleaning up. Way back, deep in my closet I found a large bag. It's been years since I've made it this far back in my messy closet so the contents inside could be just about anything. I'm sure many of you have things tucked away, that you haven't seen in years. I opened up the bag and instantly knew what I had discovered...old letters from friends, some past girlfriends of mine. I still had the envelops too. I looked at the date- 1987. Wow, this should be interesting as I opened the first one.

Upon reading the first letter, I realized one thing. My perception of some of the different relationships I had were different than I recall. I was reading letter after letter from one paticular girl who I thought was just a friend, but according to these letters, something more was there. News to me! Then I found a birthday card...from my very first love.

This woman...err, girl was someone I started dating when I was a junior in high school. She was a couple years younger than me and to this day might have been the best girlfriend I ever had. I know what you're thinking, all our first crushes seem the most intense. Well, we dated on and off for four years. If only I had met her when I was mature enough to know what the fuck I was doing. In the birthday card she wrote how much she needed and loved me. It was a nice feeling, even if it was written almost twenty years ago (god damn I'm getting old).

There were plenty of letters written from friends while I was in college and it's always interesting to think back what was going on in the world, twenty years ago. Things are much different now, although my maturity level never really seemed to catch up to my chronological age. Then I found this little gem. I know poems go over on uber like a wet long fart in church, but I thought I'd to post it here. Not that it's anything special, and does not compare to the awesome work of Orgasmatron, but none-the-less, here it goes...

MAKING LOVE UNDER THE STARS

Our eyes awaken, the sun shines bright
the waves were crashing against a moon-filled night

A smile appears and then a kiss
thinking about last night we reminisce

It was so magical, such pure delight
our bodies as one, without a single fight

The smell of your hair, the taste of your skin
it may be the happiest that I've ever been

What seemed like days had just passed by
the stars and the moon had filled the sky

A perfect night, had just elapsed
the morning after would be a blast

The coffee strong, the moment more
our bodies floated like eagles soar

We take first sip, I start to gaze
our eyes are locked, mine starts to raise

Which brings a smile on your pretty face
you look so good in your satin-n-lace

So we make sweet love like never before
as the waves keep crashing against the rocky shore

With first sun-rise and then sun-set
it's hard to imagine the first time we met

So another night is filled with pure bliss
and another night we may reminisce
---------------

let the making fun of games begin...

+1 for the sentiment and because I was 3 years old then, when my only worry was how far I could get my finger up my nose.

I was at university 1994- 1997 just before people really started using email so I have letters from all my friends and family to keep- I still have boxes of letters up in my roof. I don't have anything after that time really because email and mobile phones took over.

letters are important like that. Its like a little piece of history in the back of your closet.
sadly they are less common due to e-mail, and such.
