I liked the first few Dark Tower books, but when dear old Stephen started to write his own...
I'm not going to finish this statement so as to not ruin it for anyone who has not read the books, but GODDAMN that pissed me off to no end.

Another nomination for Patrick Stewart?
Yes, I too missed anything Dune related. Bastard!
The original 6 were good, the Atreides-Harkonnen-Corinno books were a nice read too. And the Butlerian Jihad trilogy was pretty good as well.
Aww fuck it, I'm just a Dune fan.

I don't know how I feel about the Gunslinger as a movie, Kings books NEVER make good movies
__________________________________
Depends who directs. Shawshank, Misery, Stand by Me, Green Mile, Carrie and the orginal Shining were all good flicks.
---------------
These book'd have to get the royal treatment to be done right. Which means, like the Lord of the Rings books, or even the Harry Potter books, each one'd have to be its own film. I don't know if Hollywood has the stomach for that sort of proposal.
It'd be the only way to go, really. I don't want to have them watered down into three or four movies. I'd read a while back that someone was thinking about animating the whole series and distributing it in episodes. That would be a creative way to go, and plausible to boot.

Animated just will not fly. I need to believe in the characters. I was in Middle Earth for three years with Peter Jackson, they were that good, they drew you in. Dark Tower, it would have to be this way or it would fall flat on its face. Adult animated series do not go over well.

they should have made a star trek spinoff called "Geordi!"
matt leblanc could have stopped by every now and then and complained about his love life, while Geordi laughed at him and made biggoted Italian jokes. During sweeps he could throw up containment fields around strangers and force them to watch "roots."
