I was asked about the artwork I usually leave below my submissions in this series. They are all personal pieces I've done myself (except for the M.C. Escher one in submission 5 of course). I would also like to say; this is going to be a long project. Expect several more submissions. I believe this story is going to need possibly near 30 parts to complete... maybe even more. I started this as a project of writing one part at a time in one day. I give myself no longer then a day; though I sometimes may go a few days without a post, I still only wrote that post in a day. I was just too busy the previous days to even write anything. This means my editing won't be perfect and the length may fluctuate from post to post.

Oh and for you old school video game geeks who may not have played the Sega CD. 'Earthworm Jim Special Edition' on the Sega CD is the best damn version and you should play it if you haven't yet in the last decade! Later is better then never.
--------------------------------------------------
Danny and his friends could notice a difference in Chris since he returned home from the hospital. When they would hang out prior to his stay and even during home visits during his stay, he was a sporadic creature that always guaranteed sporadic fun. Chris may have suffered from Manic Depression, but this meant for amazing fluctuations in moods and mannerisms. At any given moment he would be a loud mouth hooligan who would scream at any authority figure just for fun; the next moment he would be a meek and adorable child who could bend any parent at will with his innocence. He may have drastic mood swings that sent him into fits of depression or anger, but it wasn't too much to ruin who he was and made it just as fun to hang out with him. An adventure in the woods with unexpected details would grow exponentially in variables when Chris tagged along.
Now everything has changed. His sporadic behavior has been replaced with a mundane flat line of emotion. Randomly his mood may change, but only in a negative direction.
"Holy shit dude! You're finally back!" Sean came running across the court yard of their complex. Danny's one true friend Sean is a wiry tall boy who considered Chris his own brother. When all the other boys only hung out to play Danny's video games, Sean would stand up for Danny and Chris when the others would talk trash.
"Hi Sean." Chris walked at medium pace along side Danny. His stood much taller then the other two boys, which made them jealous as they were over 2 years older.
"We are so gonna have some good times again!" Sean was rubbing his hands with excitement, "Shit, remember that time the ol' hag over in K building ran over my foot. You all cussed her out and shit and she smacked you in the ass." He started to laugh hysterically, "And then you smeared fresh asphalt all over her car when she went inside... dumb bitch."
"Oh yeah, that was fucking awesome." Danny laughed along side Sean and looked on at Chris.
"I should go apologize to her for that." Chris's facade did not alter one bit, instead he started walking toward K building.
"Woh, woh, wait bro." Chris and Sean spoke in unison and grabbed hold of the tall boy, "You crazy or something? That bitch will so try to sue us or something man!"
"No she won't, everything will be fine." Chris attempted to pull loose from their grip.
"Oh shit, Chris come on we gotta go this way Jamie is coming out of K building right now." Sean tugged harder on Chris to go the opposite direction.
Danny looked at Sean inquisitively, "Why? I thought Jamie was cool."
"You didn't hear what he did to that weird little kid yesterday? You know the one who rides the pink bicycle?"
"What?" Danny tugged on Chris as well and got him to follow away from K building and towards the park.
"Last week he was picking on the kid for riding a girly bike and the kid got fed up or something. They started at it over by L building when Jamie accidentally..." Sean fluttered his fingers in the air like quotation marks, "pushed em' through a bottom floor window."
"Not ah, he'd be arrested or something like that!"
"Dude, he's like ten and he said they were play wrestling or some crap and it happened by accident. When the weird kid came to in the hospital he supposedly confirmed that it was all in fun, but come on'! I know how Jamie is; he wouldn't play wrestle with that fruit ball."
"Nah shit. I think I'll be avoiding him for a little while."
"Someone should tell his mommy about that." Chris looked over his shoulder back at Jaime with a slight grimace on his face.
"Dude, what the fuck is up with your brother?" Sean poked Danny in the side and whispered in his ear.
Danny shrugged his shoulders, "So what are we doing today?"
"I think were gonna head out to the train trestle and throw shit in the river. After that you guys should spend the night and we'll play Sega all night."
-----------------------
Jaime is one of four boys from a family who moved into the complex recently. He had a younger brother that no one bothered to remember the name of. He also had two older brothers; Julian who was Danny's age and Damian who was Richard's age. Richard had befriended the two of them rather fast and spent a lot of time making trouble around the complex with them.
Richard's biological father died of unnatural causes years ago. Now that Richard was eighteen he received a check every month which was willed to him. Tonight he asked his mother to borrow the car so he could go out and have a good time. Her not being a dumb woman knew this meant partying with his friends and driving intoxicated. She denied him the use and he left the house to roam the streets until the strange hours of the night getting high with some friends, including Damian and Julian.
Chris and Danny were allowed to spend the night at Sean's and they packed up their Sega to go have some fun. The night was filled with potato chips, Mountain Dew and 'Earthworm Jim Special Edition'.
"Dude this is like the best Earthworm version out there!" Danny complimented his investment as he slid the disc into the Sega CD.
"Doesn't mean I'm going to rush out and spend three hundred dollars on a damn Sega CD. Dude how did you get this?"
"My dad duh, my mom would shit a fucking brick too if she knew how much it cost." Danny's father randomly would purchase some high priced product for his boy. It usually was a video game or possibly a pair of pants. Danny being the geek he was preferred the video games and demanded them more often. To his mother's dismay he would never come home with new clothes provoking another fight about his father not having his priorities in the right place.
"Can I go first?" Chris asked sweetly.
"Yeah sure bro, you haven't gotten to play this in a long ass time." Danny tossed the controller at his little brother, "anyways, I gotta pee, and stop being such a dork about it too."
"Dude leave the games man." Sean pointed at Danny's backpack still on his back.
"I'll be back; you guys are playing Earthworm anyways." Danny stepped out of the room and down the hall to the bathroom. He slowly shut the door, spun the luck and took his backpack off. Muddling through his clothes and video games he reached to the bottom and procured a bottle of Coca Cola and a pickle jar. He kicked back a few swigs of the pickle jar and then poured some more into his bottle of Coke. He closed everything back up and went back to the bedroom.
Chris and Sean were perched at the window staring outside. Chris heard his brother come in and turned to ask, "Where'd you get the Coke?"
Sean smacked Chris in the arm, "You're so freaking weird dude. Hey, Danny come check this out! There's a fight going on outside!"
"No way, sweet!" Danny ran over and shoved in between the two boys to watch the show.
"Hey Coke, sweet let me get some. I'll give ya a Dew." Sean reached out for the bottle.
"Nah, this is my special drink." Danny smiled and tossed back a big swig. He didn't ever tell his friends that he drank.
"Oh..." but they do get the hint every time.
Out the first floor window they watched as a group of kids beat this one kid bent over. Another kid lay in the shadows a bit further away already knocked out. The one getting the beating was being kicked in the stomach and dragged around. The smallest of the group kept reaching into pockets and fishing through a wallet and screaming something. It was too dark to see who anyone was, but the commotion was still entertaining to watch in the shadows.
Suddenly the kid who lay in the corner came out of no where and slugged one the biggest in the head. The others grabbed hold of the guy on the ground and flung him towards the window Danny was watching through.
A bloody face smashed into the window and mumbled a few words, "Call mom." Out of the shadows Danny and Chris's cousin reached out and grabbed a hold of the bloody figure and dragged him away. The assailants had all left for now.
"Richard!" Chris screamed a blood curdling cry and ran out the door.

But hurry and finish so I can read the whole thing in one sitting, and then proceed to publish it under my name.
