As you may be aware, all the best cities in the world have to have something high to go up. Paris has the Eiffel Tower, New York has the Empire State Building, Sydney has the Sky Tower... and so on. Portsmouth, where I live now has it's own high thing to go up... the Spinnaker Tower. It was going to be called the Millenium Tower but it only opened a month ago so they had to think of something else to call it.
Anyway I am killing some time till we go up it to look this afternoon, and I was playing about with Google Video. I searched for "Lost" (even though I am a bit bored with it now) and instead I found the most depressing video ever. It's like trainspotting without the drugs.
Basically a family swear at each other in thick scottish accents whilst looking for some "fookin' shoes". My favourite bit is where the cameraman rirles through the larder.

Looks to be about as tall as the Space Needle. This tower is 170m, at the very top. The needle is 520 feet at the observation deck.
Plus we have a cool rotating restaurant at the top. HA.

Has anyone based jumped off that thing yet?
I haven't been watching Lost. All last season and the first part of this season I wouldn't miss an episode. We were out of town or something and recorded it and then never really got around to watching it. Just like that the addiction was broken. Nothing ever seems to happen on that show. Maybe once football season is over...

Indoninja- I'll post some pictures tomorrow so you can see Portsmouth in all it's depressing glory. Most people agree with you about the tower- we all have to pay higher tax to pay for the millions they overspent, and the outside lift has never worked.
As for my weight... I'm 29 years old and very happily married for 8 years. In my whole life the only nasty comments I have ever got about my weight have been from this website. I'm never going to start making personal comments about anyones appearance, race, sexuality or physical disibilities on the Internet, but you carry on... it makes me feel all smug and superior.

The tower has cool architecture, but really isn't that large. The Washington Monument is larger than that.
