Here's a poem I wrote.
Putting Women on a Pedestal
With all that he has lost
He still won't stop
He keeps putting women on a pedastal
Divorce with limited visitation
Attempted suicide
Brutal child support payments, humiliation
A loss of masculine pride
With all the pain he has
He just won't stop
Putting women on a pedestal
Adultery, abuse
Abandoment, neglect
Using and abusing him through misuse
Criminal disrespect
Guys think that I'm mistaken
When I tell them to make a switch
She may want to be grabbed and shaken
Or at least called a bitch
Which could very well be because
She may be a masochist
With all the pain that men feel
We just won't stop
Putting women on a pedestal
What does that say about us?

Tell him to make a switch? Do you really think gay people have it any better? Please, honey. They go through all the same shit as heteros. In fact, the level of domestic violence in gay and lesbian couples is higher than in straight couples. This has even been reported in gay and lesbian news outlets.
The whole "ditch the bitch, make the switch" line is just propaganda. Having been gay, and now bi, I can tell you that both groups are full of shit, because people are fucked up in ways that are universal.
