Like many people on the intarweb I am a fan of a number of web comics, these are vastly abundent on the internet and amongst them there are many good and many bad. I'm going to share a short rundown of a few I like and would be interested to hear opinions and references to any that anyone else may wish to recommend (or slate). Without further ado, my recommendations:
Comic: Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal
Rating: 4/5
URL: http://www.smbc-comics.com/
This comic started as a running gag in a college newsletter and evolved to the "alternative humour" web comic it is now. Updates daily with a new gag, the humour can be twisted or sick at times but that suits me just fine, everyone loves a good sexual harassment or murder joke, all it is missing is some about babies. Also note there is a "bonus!" section with some less-frequently updated side comics as well as the original newsletter comic that spawned the site. Since largely the site consists of single-gag updates it can be read in any order and at any pace, I highly recommend it to anyone who has a broad sense of humour and likes a quick laugh.
Comic: Least I Could Do
Rating: 5/5
URL: http://www.licd.com/
Based primarily around an immature, self-obsessed womaniser named Rayne Summers, this web comic packs a lot of funnies in 6 days a week (no updates on Sundays). It's been running for a couple of years now so any new reader should probably hit the archives and start from the beginning, it's a good read and the story is still going strong. The artist has changed twice so try not to be put off by sudden changes in presentation or the seemingly poor artistic quality of the early comics, it's still funny and it gets better and better. Humour ranges from STD jokes to LoTR parody, should have something for everyone, varies between slightly sitcom-esque storylines to single comic gags.
Comic: Questionable Content
Rating: 3.5/5
URL: http://www.questionablecontent.net/
This comic revolves around a small group of friends who are into the Indie scene. Don't be put off if you aren't an indie fan yourself, I'm not and there is still enough other material to make me keep reading. The updates are on all weekdays (not weekends). The author tries to fit at least one punchline in each update, fails a few times but largely quite funny. The storylines tend to get drawn out a little longer than in LICD and on occasion can be a little bit tedious but not so much that it has made me stop reading yet. Again like LICD it's been going a while and I strongly recommend anyone who wants to read it to hit the "first" button and start from there.
Comic: The Noob
Rating: 4/5
URL: http://www.thenoobcomic.com/
As the name suggests it's all about a Noob! In this case a player in "Cliche Quest" - an amalgamation of most the trends and stereotypes found in MMORP Gaming. If you're a gamer or ex-gamer as I am you will undoubtedly find this hilarious, if you're not, well... you may enjoy some of it but you'll probably miss out on a lot of the humour. My one niggle preventing me from giving the 5/5 is that the updates are few and far between these days, not that I'm not grateful for what we get of course. As with previous comics I strongly suggest starting from the beginning, and don't power through too fast or you'll join so many other readers having to wait frustrated between updates.
That's all, I look forward to hearing your recommendations and reviews!

I've always found Penny Arcade good. Have a look, if you like it, you like it, if you don't, you don't.

You often have to read the 'News' section to acually get the joke.
