His back hits the ground hard and she's straddling him. His eyes follow the silver line running from his chest to her hands, down to her shoulders, across her neck, and to her porcelain face. Her eyes are closed.
"You missed," he gasps "think you hit a lung."
She opens her eyes and stares into his. He always admired her hazel eyes.
"You let me win."
He can feel her, almost shaking on top of him.
"I love you Yoshimi," he answers.
"I love you," she responds.
"Don't say it if you don't mean it," he attempts a smile but the agony in his chest denies him that grace.
"I never say things I don't mean," she looks away.
He reaches up running his and across her surreal face, drawing her eyes back to his.
"You remember the gardens on-"he coughs and blood speckles his lips.
"Yes, shush now," she shakes her head at him.
"Take care of the Masamune for me." He can feel his life slipping away with each ragged breath.
She shakes her head, in that all too well understood manner that means this is overly done and more than she can handle.
"Duncan... it's broke."
"Oh."
He draws in another agonizing breath.
"Take it out now."
She nods and stands and in one graceful motion removes her katana from his chest.
He watches his blood flow from the wound.
"Go away now. I want to die alone."
She nods and walks back towards her oval shaped vehicle.
"He was never meant for this business," she thinks "he was always too good of a man."
