Why why WHY can't they just accept that I'm better than they are (except for Jeff) at Sudoko and leave well enough alone.

but noes they had to go and find this other thing that has now replaced Sudoko as the most frustrating and irritating part of my morning

aside from the five minutes of extreme frustration provided by the sick bastard who gave me the daily origami calendar

fuckers

http://www.kakuro.net/

If kakuro bore you then this probably will as well. We're trying to figure out if those little ceramic heaters that we're not supposed to have at work because they are a fire hazard but have anyway because the heating system in this building is the sux could be used at home to reduce over all home heating costs.

They are notoriously inefficient, not that we care here because the company aka the shareholders are paying the utility bills at work, but what about at home.

It should be noted that these vicious and hateful bastards I work with will not accept opinion on the issue. This is much more complex than that and involves average natural gas prices versus the increase in electrical costs from running the heater.

anyone happen to catch the Panthers - Bears game?

See now I think you're just jealous ;)."""

Do you know anyone who is jealous of England? If so, I'd like to meet that person.

What I said, and something I'll try one last time to get through to you is not that these countries are not allowed pride, but rather that their achievements (or lack of them) - do not allow them the right to cast aspersions on black people. ""

Ok...but you, as a Briton, are allowed to be racist? Besides, I believe Canada has achieved quite a bit more than nations like Haiti. Hell, even the two traditional foes manage to live under the same roof. Again, your point was complete crap.

When the Spanish or Italians send monkey chants at black footballers, or hurl bananas, I question the right of these people to talk about anything at all. And your comment http://www.ubersite.com/m/82417#1785762 just smacks of the same casual racism. """

At least I'm aware of my intolerance. You on the other hand are the worse kind of racist because you're not even aware that you are. Don't you realize that granting or removing rights depending on nationality (which is what you suggest) then calling me a racist is a little hypocritical?

You don't seem to have a lot of experience of living alongside black people."""

Actually, I do. I live in a black neighborhood. I commute, work out, shop, eat...surrounded with Haitians and funnily enough, the more I'm around them, the more I dislike them which is the complete opposite reaction I had of other culture I cohabited with.

It's interesting to see how you react to even gentle jibes about your nationality/ethnicity. """

Gentle jibs don't bother me. Trendy anti-french lies do annoy me a bit. But most of the time, I'm just playing along because after all, I, and most of francophones, do quite a lot of anglo-bashing.

I'm tired of this. Obviously you are convinced you are superior because of your nationality (God knows why) and therefore, there is no point arguing with a person like you.

Do you even have an idea of what you're talking about or do you just spew this bullshit as you go along, seriously?
---
See now I think you're just jealous ;). I've said that I feel the statistics are an artifact of a highly politicised data collection technique. The Economist is merely reporting a set of statistics. It does not make it 'truth.' Canada resting on its laurels and then dropping 13 places. What happened there? Did you decide against continuing your excellent levels of health service on the basis of some table in a magazine catering for the corporate masters?

What I said, and something I'll try one last time to get through to you is not that these countries are not allowed pride, but rather that their achievements (or lack of them) - do not allow them the right to cast aspersions on black people.

A particular telling example is France in 1998 with Le Penne. He made several venomous comments about the French national football team being just not white enough for him. They then won the tournament, causing great national pride etc etc - Le Penne fucks off to sulk, fascist that he is.

When the Spanish or Italians send monkey chants at black footballers, or hurl bananas, I question the right of these people to talk about anything at all. And your comment http://www.ubersite.com/m/82417#1785762 just smacks of the same casual racism.

You don't seem to have a lot of experience of living alongside black people, and I had hoped that someone from your background may have some appreciation of what it must be like putting up with racism. It's interesting to see how you react to even gentle jibes about your nationality/ethnicity.

<<hmmm - discrimination vs genocide. I don't think that's just a semantic difference.

<sigh> Of course there is a difference, you dolt! It was an exagaration to mock your completly made up fact about Americans discriminating Canadians, massively on top of that. The semantic is different, but the bullshit isn't. Get it? I fear that you do not.

<<I've not yet insulted you Caul. I do believe a little courtesy is important. And the French can be justifiably proud of their culture. France has a long and enviable history of art, architecture, music and literature. I have nothing but respect for those aspects of French culture.

Didn't you say that being French is "harsh" because, God forgives us, the "English looks down on us". That seriously implies a superiority complex.

The Germans too.

<<hmmm - discrimination vs genocide. I don't think that's just a semantic difference.

>>I guess Caul. But last I heard the English gentleman was still something that commands a little respect.

haha, maybe from an American point of view. Or maybe you have that perception because you're an anglophone because most of what you'll hear about the english from frenchmen or french-canucks isn't exactly flattering. Just because you think you command respect doesn't mean you actually do, idiot. That's like french people who are somehow convinced that they're culturally superior.

<<I've not yet insulted you Caul. I do believe a little courtesy is important. And the French can be justifiably proud of their culture. France has a long and enviable history of art, architecture, music and literature. I have nothing but respect for those aspects of French culture.

>>I still doubt that. And I was referring to Greece and Turkey. Please spend the time to look up these countries in quality of life. I was in fact referring to the racism that these countries suffer from (i.e. examine the Turkey Switzerland playoff to witness the scenes there). i.e. against black people - which was my initial point - which you have apparently missed...

You doubt that? Canada used to be first in terms of quality of life but we sat on our laurels, now 14th, just below the U.S. Which is still better than the 29th position where Britain sits. And Greece is above you by the way...I looked it up like you asked :-) http://www.economist.com/images/worldin2005/qualitytable.gif But that doesn't matter at all...I just pointed the stupidity of your argument that higher quality of life somehow gives you carte blanche for racism.

<<My point was that I find it difficult to understand how countries who are struggling economically and domestically (perhaps the Former Republic of Yugoslavia would be a more appropriate example) can act as if other races are inferior. People in glass houses so to speak.

>>Shake away - but I think you've missed the point

Your point was that as a french-canadian, I am less permitted to make generalizations as a Briton would be...which in itself, my friend, is racist too because you assume that I'm inferior!

For the record, I don't hate black people because of their skins. I hate people from Haïti, which are the overwhelming majority of our black immigrants, while I have nothing but positive experiences with africans.

I'm not saying I'm not racist (I believe I am), I'm saying that your point, if there were such a thing, sucks ass

Here let me help you out, this is not a bitch about work. See I said that I hate my coworkers because they got me hooked on another little number puzzle thing that without them I would not know about.

get it?

No probably not.

I suppose if someone said that a terrorist bombed their building, that would also be a bitch about work.

Whatza matter ozzy, no furry sex?
-----------------------
No, that's not it at all Loki. There was a threesome with a possum and an squirrel on Saturday night, complete with chestnuts as sex toys.

I just <sigh>, this type of post is my pet hate on Uber, and you seem to have delivered quite a few of them recently. Which is a waste because you can actually write well.

The more I think about it, the more I think its probably my issue, not yours.

Fuck it.
<feels a twinge of pain in admitting it>

You think so Razor?

I don't know. Someone dropped this little gem on me this morning and at least so far today, I'm not doing that well. I was told that there is some sort of cheat sheet out there that will give all the possible combinations of various numbers given specific numbers of blanks but I refuse, flatly. If you look it up, what is the bloody point.

maybe this is why I haven't gotten very far

she also has an electric guitar, an acoustic guitar, a drum set and 2 keyboards....noise you say?

I'm glad she liked the little bear. There was one other choice. I thought it was cute but it played jingle bells when you pressed on a button its paw. Sam flat out told me that if you snapped after hearing it for the 100th time, got in your car, and came down here to kick my ass, he was going to do nothing to interfere. I thought maybe it would be best to go with the quiet toy.

Caul, I think statistically 15% of the work force in the US is black. I haven't heard any complaints about working today. A few people took the day off because the schools are closed, but I think they're saving the attitude for Black History Month, the shortest month of the year because the man just wouldn't give a brother those extra three days.

Loki, why must you make us drop -2 bombs?

Could you not email your Uber-friends with this stuff? Or write it in a review on a heated post so they all see it?

Please?

Seriously.
