Ok, the last riddle here http://www.ubersite.com/m/82087 was pretty hard. But I have found one that I am pretty much sure no one will get.
I tried this one for two days and finally had to cheat. I will give one hint tommorrow if no one has gotten it yet.
If someone gets it *Without cheating* will get a +2 for every post that you have.

There is a certain island where all of the inhabitants have either brown or blue eyes. It's a small island, and everybody knows everyone else, so everybody knows everyone else's eye color. However, nobody knows his own eye color, because there are no mirrors on the island. And nobody will tell anyone else his own eye color, because all of the inhabitants adhere to a strict religion which holds that if you learn your own eye color, you must commit suicide at the next midnight. The island being small and news travelling fast, all of the inhabitants will immediately learn of any suicides. All of the inhabitants are perfect logicians, meaning they will immediately make any deductions that can be made, and all of them are aware of all of these facts, including this one.
Once every 1000 years, a mystical green-eyed goddess appears on the hill outside town, and she always speaks the truth. All of the islanders gather around to hear her speak. On one occasion, she appeared, surveyed the crowd before her, and announced, "I see someone with blue eyes."
What happens?

The goddess said she saw "someone" with blue eyes, but not just one person. I assume that means there could be more than one.
I think ozzy hit it on the head. Unabonger threw me for a minute with his guess of 3 blues and 2 browns, but when you think about it, the blues would've cancelled themselves out. If one blue thought he was a brown, then why didn't one of the other 2 blues commit suicide? If there were only 2 blues, one of them would think, "That other blue didn't kill himself, I must be blue too." But because that didn't happen, the third blue would know he was also blue. After that, the browns would follow, because they would deduce their eye color from the actions of the blues,and the other browns.
I feel parts of my brain flexing that I didn't know existed, and it sort of hurts because I just drank two bottles of wine.

I'll give you a +1 for the riddle itself, even though it's flawed.
I've seen this one in a TON of "logical thinking" puzzle books, in a few different forms.
Eye color, birthmarks, stuff like that.
Every time I've seen it, it's "I see one person with blue eyes."
Then, everyone looks around, and when they see the one person with blue eyes, they kill themselves, because they know since the goddess saw ONE set of blue, that theirs must be brown.
After all the people with brown eyes have killed themselves, the man with blue realizes that he's the only one with blue eyes, and kills himself.
But that's only how I've seen it in 6-7 books.

If you read my review... and understand it...
Technically, 1000 years should be enough time that there would be NO more blue-eyed people...especially if this wasn't the first time that the goddess had appeared.
If you have a hard time thinking about my review... then think about a simpler situation. Simply think about a small island of black and white people, who mated together. Eventually, everyone would be brown after 1000 years.
Look at Cuba and Puerto Rico... They're almost perfect examples, and they would be if either were a small enough island to where everyone knew each other. (small town) --And that's only after 500 years max. You see, it's a common misconception that those brown Caribbean people are from Native American descent like Mexicans...however they AREN'T. Puerto Ricans and Cubans were all black and white at one point.
So technically, I have the more complete answer, and I am correct.

Let's say there are two people on this island. One with blue eyes, one with brown. The Goddess says her thing. Brown looks at blue and thinks "Oh, she's talking about him." Blue looks at brown and thinks "Well, he's got brown eyes. And someone here has blue eyes. It must be me." He commits sucide that night. The next morning, Brown wakes up and sees that Blue is dead. "Well," he thinks, "I must have brown eyes then because all the blue-eyed people are gone." He now knows his eye color and kills himself.
Theory: If there is one person with blue eyes, he will die after 1 day. All brown-eyed people will die on the 2nd day.
With me so far? Good.
Next:
Let's say that there are 3 people. 2 brown-eyed, 1 blue-eyed. The two browns look at Blue and think "She must be talking about him." Blue does the same thing as in the last example. Commits sucidide that night. Both browns realize they have brown eyes because they realize all blues are gone.
Theroy holds true.
NOW,
Still three people. This time 2 blue and 1 brown. Now, the blue eyed people know that one of the following is true (FROM THEIR POINT OF VIEW):
a) I have blue eyes and the total number of people with blue eyes is 2
b) I have brown eyes and the total number of people with brown eyes is 1
The brown-eyed guy knows one of the following is true:
a) I have blue eyes and the total number of people with blue eyes is 3.
b) I have brown eyes and the total number of people with blue eyes is 2.
So brown looks over at the blues and thinks "She's talking about him." The blues look at eachother and figure "She's talking about him." Let's re-cap. The brown figures she's talking about the blues. The blue people each think that she's talking about the other blue person.
Night falls. Nothing happens.
They both know that if there was one person with blue eyes, they would have died that night (as proven in our first two examples). So now all three know that there are at least two people with blue eyes on this island (well, the brown eyed guy knew that all along). This means that option B in the blue eyed's possiblities (I have brown eyes and the total number of people with brown eyes is 1) can not possibly be true and then they deduce that they each have blue eyes. They both die that night. The brown person, seeing both blues dead, deduce that he has brown eyes and dies the next night.
Theory: If two people have blue eyes, they will each die in 2 nights. The brown eyed people will die the next day.
This can be continued on and on and on. Basically the answer is:
If there are X number of blue-eyed people, all blue-eyed people will die on the Xth day, with all the brown-eyed people following suit the day after

The whole "Nth day = Nth blue" theory was indeed what I first thought. But come on, that only holds water if N is relatively small. (or zero (no blue, everyone brown))
If the population was 50 browns and 50 blues: After about the 5th day, no one would really care anymore since EVERYONE could "see someone with blue eyes." They would have forgotten her tripe as 'melodramtic BS.'
No one has touched on if everyone on the island had blue eyes. Then again, that scenario wouldn't be able to happen.
Seriously though, N would be either relatively small or zero.
Now let's REALLY analyze this situation.
We have 1000 years before each intrusion. The genes for brown eyes are dominant alleles. Whereas, blue eyes are recessive. Now, we can start with any beginning ratio of brown to blue--we can consider their first move to the island as a bottleneck effect, etc.
According to the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, evolution will cease if the 7 criteria are met. If they are not met, then evolution will select for the better alleles. In our situation, 2 of the criteria are NOT met, therefore micro-evolution will select for one of the alleles.
1. The population is notably small. We can deduce this from the "small" island. The real effect of this unmet condition is that it will expedite the effects of the next condition; allowing for the micro-evolution to occur within 1000 years.
2. Brown eyes are being slightly naturally selected over blue eyes. No, they are not naturally selected just because they are dominant. They will be more brown eyes coming into the population because of the following scenario:
If 2 blue people mate with each other, they will always produce offspring with blue eyes. Once the offspring learn basic genetics in their early years, they realize they have blue eyes because both their parents have blue eyes. Therefore they commit suicide at midnight. The parents then realize they both have blue eyes, also. They also commit suicide at midnight.
This scenario acts as a pressure from the environment against blue eyes and in favor for brown eyes. The blue eyes will slowly kill themselves out of existence. The effects of this process will be sped up since the island is small.
Therefore... in 1000 yrs, when the goddess comes out, chances are N is small. Chances are also that N is zero... So it's a lie and everyone kills themselves. That, or they realize the goddess is a darn fraud, and they off her head. (but then again, everyone would realize they have brown eyes, and have committed suicide also)
Alright, so I proved that N WILL indeed be small or zero. The scenario that everyone has blue eyes couldn't happen, because they would kill themselves, knowing they had recessive genes.

but here's another thought: Nothing happens when this is said. The individual assumes, since there are people with blue and brown eyes all around, that there is no definitive evidence of his/her eye color and the individual doesn't need to kill himself.
Since everyone thinks this, noone dies. The next day, they see everyone living.
**ok this is where I started thinking they would all kill themselves because they think they have the blue eyes...but that's not true because you still see everyone around you with brown and blue eyes still. so you may think other people should kill themselves but it still leaves no definitive evidence to the individual's eye color so no suicide is necessary.
Noone dies. The godess' eye color is now still green but called (or assumed to be) "blue" because the godess never lies and that's the only feasable way for the logic-driven inhabitants to keep from exploding in a paradox.

Everyone commits suicide. Since everyone knows everyone else and what colour eyes they have and the goddess says "I see *someone* with blue eyes" that means only one person has blue eyes.
The person that has the blue eyes (we'll call him Bob) has only seen people with brown, deduces that he's the only one with blue, kills himself.
All the others, also knowing everyone except Bob has brown eyes (except their own, of course), hears the goddess say "someone" meaning one person. They deduce that since it's only one person and they've only seen Bob with blue eyes, that they have brown and kill themselves also.

They might wonder why none of the blue kill themselves, but they will think that it's because everyone sees someone else, and they won't be able to deduct whether they have blue eyes themselves.
But I think nr. 1 is the answer you want.

no, that's not an accurate comparison at all redskies. consider the case you give step by step.
there are 3 blues and 3 browns. you are one of the blues.
when the goddess says her line, you look around and see 3 browns and 2 blues. call the two blues blue-1 and blue-2. you, not knowing your own colour (which we know is blue), must consider the actions of blue-1 step-by-step to determine your colour.
1. you know that blue-1 sees 3 browns, 1 blue and you (indeterminate).
consider this case: you have brown eyes
then blue-1 will see only one person with blue eyes (blue-2). thus they will return the next day. as will the others (the browns all see at least one blue, blue-2 sees at least one blue (blue-1), you see two blues (blue-1 & blue-2).
so if you have brown eyes, as assumed, everyone will still be alive the next day.
now consider the thoughts of blue-1 again. he sees only one blue (blue-2) and 4 browns (you + other three), and yet blue-2 has not committed suicide. thus blue-1 concludes he must have blue eyes.
correspondingly, blue-2 has concluded he also has blue eyes by the same reasoning. thus, the next day, they will both have killed themselves.
this will leave you + the three browns, who will each have followed this same line of reasoning (the symmetry of this situation is very interesting). thus they will all conclude that they are brown, and so when the next day rolls around all will be dead.
so there is the proposition. if you have brown eyes, the above chain of events occurs. if the above chain does not take place, and since this is an either/or proposition, you must have blue eyes.
so it's always possible for someone to infer their eye colour from the actions of others, and so everyone in the group will be dead after a certain time interval. no doubt a more systematic investigation would provide a formula for how long it takes for everyone to die (number of days = number of people doesn't seem right, I think it might be related to the size of the largest grouping of the two colours).
this is what you get when you consider it logically. a red ball is not a logical being. your analogy is false. and your assertion:

Depends on how many people on the island actually have blue eyes. The number of those that do will die on that day (i.e., if there are 100 people with blue eyes, they will commit suicide on the 100th day, because that's how long it will take each of them to deduce that they have blue eyes). All the brown eyed people will then know their own eye color (since there are only two choices), and will then follow suit and kill themselves on the following day.
What happens? Everyone will eventually be dead on the day AFTER the number of days that coincides with the number of people having blue eyes.

Let's say there are two people on this island. One with blue eyes, one with brown. The Goddess says her thing. Brown looks at blue and thinks "Oh, she's talking about him." Blue looks at brown and thinks "Well, he's got brown eyes. And someone here has blue eyes. It must be me." He commits sucide that night. The next morning, Brown wakes up and sees that Blue is dead. So brown looks over at the blues and thinks "She's talking about him." The blues look at eachother and figure "She's talking about him." Let's re-cap. The brown figures she's talking about the blues. The blue people each think that she's talking about the other blue person.
Night falls. Nothing happens.
They both know that if there was one person with blue eyes, they would have died that night (as proven in our first two examples). So now all three know that there are at least two people with blue eyes on this island (well, the brown eyed guy knew that all along). This means that option B in the blue eyed's possiblities (I have brown eyes and the total number of people with brown eyes is 1) can not possibly be true and then they deduce that they each have blue eyes. They both die that night. The brown person, seeing both blues dead, deduce that he has brown eyes and dies the next night.
Theory: If two people have blue eyes, they will each die in 2 nights. The brown eyed people will die the next day.
This can be continued on and on and on. Basically the answer is:
If there are X number of blue-eyed people, all blue-eyed people will die on the Xth day, with all the brown-eyed people following suit the day after
