Lying on the plush carpet of her sweet, peach-walled world,
My sister and I gaze at the pointy white stars.
Baby powder dances on our noses,
Creating a warm bath of intimacy as
We look to the finite white sky.
Her stuffed playmates watch our pearly camaraderie,
Smiling at the impending altercation.
I reach out to caress her white-blonde ringlets,
To touch her flushed, plump cheek.
She grunts and turns away,
Gingerly sucking on her own fresh, pink thumb.
She never received my touch well.
I would try to pick up her short body,
My hands supporting her toddler form
As I waddled for a few feet.
Instead, she would kick my leg and scramble away.
When posing for pictures,
I hugged her shoulder and gave a great grin.
She shouted and squirmed away,
Slapping my arm and sneering into the camera.
I wanted to hold her hand when we walked together,
But she would shake it off and run up ahead.
I sighed and looked back to the ceiling,
Feeling the carpet prickling my back.
She turns back onto her side,
The distance mere inches, yet miles apart.
Smiling into my eyes,
She reaches out with her white blankie,
Her eyes blue with truth.
Stay, she tells me.

Judging from other comments, I don't think uber is the place to post poetery, whether good or not. Personally, I like it. I know what its like to love your sibblings, but not get along with them. I think this was really well written. I love the white blankie of surrender, good imagery. Good poem. Forget what the critics say, I like it.
