Here's how this is going to work: I'm going to start writing, and you'll add to it in the comments section...each person add to the previous person's comments.
Here goes:

"Where is he," she thought. Looking around, all she saw was an empty, sodium illuminated street. The street lights hummed softly above her as she turned and began to walk to the next corner. It had begun to rain and as she walked, Melissa mentally kicked herself for leaving her coat back in the hotel.
Another look at her watch confirmed her anger. "Ten thirty-two," she mumbled. "No good, lazy son of a bitch."
Taxi after taxi slowed as they passed her, hoping to get a fare, and she was pretty sure she had seen this one two or three times already. He hadn't gotten the message, so she turned around again and gave him the finger, "Fuck off, I don't need a ride!" But the driver slowed anyway, hoping that the rain had changed her mind.
She turned again, now pacing, wearing thin the concrete beneath her heels. She searched her memory, assuring herself that she was right.
"Don't worry, honey, I'll be there at ten o'clock." Her husband Dan had become extremely unreliable during the last couple of months - showing up late to appointments, working weekends - she knew better than to believe him. "Would I leave you stranded," he asked, giving her a peck on the cheek.
But now, as she stood there, soaked to the skin, she knew that her worst fears must be true.
As she turned again, a familar car turned the corner and raced up beside her. It stopped short of a puddle, and the passenger door swung open...
